You guys lucky! I have never got any luck from CenDyne/Polaroid CD burners! Still waiting for rebates mailed out 3 months ago!

rebates at OM are hella slow, or somethings don't even come. Rebates at staples on the other hand are hella fast!

if its a rebadged liteon, yes

I just checked rebateshq.com today and my last two cendyne rebates are already in the mail with check # confirmed. Cendyne rebates only take about 2-2 1/2 months for me... a great deal for the burners.

The last Cendyne 48x12x48 drive I bought was from Staples, an AOpen CRW4850.

This Cendyne rebate expires tomorrow, 12/24.

Officemax.com still shows backorder status when I checked a few minutes ago, but I was able to call in ( 800-283-7674) item #20182491, and have one sent from Boston, which at the time showed 9 still available. DOn't know if this incurrs a shipping charge or not, I was told "usually not on small items", they'll call if there is additional charge.

Whoa!!! Watch out. Office Max online will no longer match competitors dollar off coupons. Called twice and was told by different reps and their supervisors that this was as of Dec 12. I said how about stating that on your web site. All I got was " I'm sorry sir". Sorry my _ _ _ when I march it to the the B&M and say "I'd like to return my order please, SIRRR!!!!!!!!!!

I went to office max this morning and got them to use the office depot 20 off of 50 coupon on the cebdyne 48x12x48x. My total was 32.51, after the 30 mail in it will be 2.51. My friend tried it tonight and they said that they don't accept that particular coupon any more. So obviously YMMV.

I got one from Staples and it isn't a Liteon. Actually, I don't know what it is. The box says 48x12x48. The drive says 48x12x50 has a, ellipital shaped tray door.
Well, even at $9 after PM and rebate rebates I dunno if I will keep it or not.

I got one a couple days ago. It's actually a 48x12x50x AOpen drive. It's gonna be 7 after rebate for me. Don't really care if it is a liteon; I just want to brun music with this one.

Box says it supports Mt. Ranier.....what format is that?

I just opened another one I got from Officemax and it's a 48x16x48. Not a Lite On either. model number is 4816p

Looks more like an Aopen I have. The case has 3 ridge indentations side to side on the top.

Jeez. This Cendyne will by from anyone.

How do you tell a lite on? Buy the serial. usually starts with LTR and by the fron bezel. i can spot one a mile away.



Edit: I checked and the 48x16x48 from officemax is an Acer Benq.

i emailed cendyne the serial number from the outside of the box (before opening) and they responded the next day or so with the manufacturaer's data (ie whodiddit) good luck...

Well, I checked and the 48x12x50 is a Aopen. So I got an Acer Benq (48x16x48) and an Aopen. Sheez i thought Acer and Aopen were the same company.
Any idea which is better?

I really wanted more Lite-ons.

Did Verbatim buy Cendyne or something? I just got a confirmation for two of my rebates from rebateshq on a couple of Cendyne drives that I bought at OM during the Black Friday sale. It doesn't say Cendyne like the other rebates, it says Verbatim. That's funny because I've never bought a Verbatim drive.

I tried to use my Staples in-store $10 off $40. After the sales clerk briefly chatted on the "com" line to the MGR.; the Mgr. came to the register and tried to enter the coupon. But< to no avail. She said that the system would not deduct the $10 dollars from the total. Also she stated that she cant override it. Soooooo..... my son and I bought 1 instead of two. Question for you: 1) Any work around to still get the extra $10.00 off 2)box says 48x12x48 serial# 913AD3702524305049JEB1. mt. rainier is also a standard for packet writing software WITHIN the os, as i understand it. it does what incd and direct cd do... but what i've heard people compare it to is using a cd as a floppy

Will staples/OM usually exchange a drive just because you want a differently branded one?
