You must register your product either online at
www.cendyne.com or mail in the registration form that was included in the box.
I know about this. It seems as though Cendyne is only asking you to do this through the Officemax deals. I did a couple of Cendyne Staples deals and they just ask for the UPC and serial number label.
FWIW.. FYI.. Just out of curiousity, I did NOT register the last Cendyne drive deal through OM to see what would happen and so far so good. I haven't received my rebate check yet, but it says valid and processing on the rebateshq site.
The reason why I didn't register it is because I will probably sell it and if I do, I don't want the drive registered in my name. That's probably why Cendyne did this in the first place. Most companies count on people buying the product and then not following through with the rebates, but there are a ton of people that buy the drives, do the rebates and then turn the drives on Ebay. That probably really burns companies like Cendyne.
Now.. I highly doubt that they will enforce this. Rebateshq is a third party rebate house and I highly doubt that they have the man hours or are willing to pay for the man hours to cross check if a drive has been registered before issuing the rebate. I think they are just trying to bluff us into registering the drives. YMMV and I'm making no claims of this. It's just what I think is going on.
