Cendyne DVD- 4X burner at Staples for $125

Yeah, probably a 52X dual-format for free after rebate two years from now when the Blu-Ray burners become common.

(Remembering when I bought a 10X HP CDRW for $100 in early 2001 and thinking it was a steal, then buying a 48X that also had burn-proofing F.A.R. a year and a half later. Grumble.)

Not true. I had my Cendyne dvd-r for 1 month. It broke last weekend, right after I learned Cendyne was out of business. So, by saving myself $30-50 over a Pioneer, I've actually cost myself another $150-170....

Make sure the drive inside the box is a Pioneer, before Cendyne stop selling these DVD- drives they replaced the Pioneer with a Ausu brand drives, if it doesn't say model number DVR-105 on the back of the box it's not a Pioneer drive inside the box .

This deal is very stale for online. I know. Checked over 13 locations before finding one. they didnt want to take a coupon though. I had 80 GC so for 40 bucks i think i got a good deal. I have a cendyne a04 as well. I could care less about +r at this point . went that route the first time. hell with it. Im all about baconup with cheap media!

Worse case senario... Keep the drive until the warranty expires and then use the CC extended warranty.

All Staples stores just got a notice yesterday from their corporate office to pull all Cendyne products off the shelves.

Got my order today (ordered via phone). It is indeed a Pioneer DVR-105. Flashed it with the 2x4all Region-Free Unlocked ripping speed firmware and it burns just as great as my old 104 did and rips @ 12x.

My total with coupon+tax $114.75.
