Hey all!

I wanted these sticks, too, and this is what I've learned:

If you try to order online, the max sticks is 2. Anything more than that, the system will show it as unavailable even if available. Also, direct ship only with shipping fee, since the B&Ms don't carry this item.

Their sys is a little glitchy. I saw my order available, then next screen unavail. Called. CSR thought someone bought the last stick while I was clicking from one screen to another. Possible, but not probable, I said. Then the same thing happened on her end: avail, then not.

Her answer: go to a CC B&M and have them special order. Should get same price as seen on web, PLUS should avoid shipping by having order go to store for pick-up. SHOULD also be able to order more than 2. Downside is she said might take 2 weeks to get it.

I'll go try it and see.

Lately it occured to me that the memory price is going up on a daily basis. Anybody know if it is a temporary situation or the low prices that we had during the last few months was an unusual circumstance.

Memory is going up. The question is how much higher, then will it slide back down a bit.

Last week one of the major memory makers (Hynix from South Korea) increased their chip prices by 30%, and it looks like the other makers followed. Plus, there's talk of Micron buying Toshiba's chip biz, which would give them dominant market share.

I expected this increase for DDR since the latest AMD and Intel chipsets (VIA, SiS, Intel) support DDR. I figured increased demand would move prices higher for DDR.

What I didn't expect was that SDR SDRAM would jump, too!
