This nimrod has it all wrong. He should have a .50BMG sniper rifle and be shooting out the blocks. Hitting a driver is hard. Incapacitating an engine is dead simple with a gun like that.

And the sound would give away his position in an instant. Not to mention the trouble of aquiring one, aquiring ammo, setting it up...just not very realistic. Though the Barret M82A1 is a bad ass to fire. Mmmm... .50cal.

They're not too hard to get. Ammo is occasionally interesting, but you can order cans on the internet for $1/shell. But the fact that there are SO immensely few of them would cause the list of suspects to narrow VERY quickly from <everybody> to <3 or 4 guys>

Setup an M82 in the woods with an escape vehicle parked on a nearby road, lay down, aim down highway towards a semi or somthing, pull trigger, stand up, pick up rifle, nurse wounded shoulder for a few seconds, RUN.

Well yeah that could do it. Since I grew up in Ohio I love the state. Except for a few politicians (namely, most of them) and laws, I wouldn't trade the state for nearly any place. The only other place I think I would want to live is near Chicago.

You city folk can go right ahead and think that Ohio's boring. We don't want you here anyway, you just cause a whole bunch of ugly urban sprawl and eat up our nice farmland with stupid suburban tract homes and ugly cities.

Amen. You city folk will NEVER realize the true beauty of the country. I used to love waking up early, having breakfast before I went out, and then going out to work on the farm as the sun rose. I haven't done that in years... but I'll never forget it as long as I live.

I wonder if you can use it as an excuse for speeding.

I live halfway between Dayton and Cincy. I agree that you have to look pretty hard to find something to do, a lot of times. Even being in a position where I could easily go to either city doesn't change that.

I wouldn't say Ohio sucks, but it is pretty boring. As I've said before, it's waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to conservative to see any change happen at a good speed.

We should all get together some time... and do nothing... because there is nothing to do.

I'll be heading down to The Polaris Mall this evening. I'll take my camera and see if I can get a picture of the sniper for ya.

Gee, I'd LOVE to be bored, with NOTHING to do, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. In the mean time, you guys have fun in the city, trying to find a place to park, paying out the ass when you finally find it, and hoping your car isn't ransacked or stolen when you finally get back to it.

Fun fact - Dave Chappel lives somewhere in Ohio I believe. In the country somewhere, he mentioned it in an interview I was reading. So we do have SOME cool people there

I don't think they'll catch this guy. The only reason they caught those two guys the last time was because they practically gave themselves up. It's really scary, but the LEO's are doing all they can do.

I don't look at this as a stupid prank or anything like that. This is a very serious matter because this person is a MURDERER. It's obvious s/he does not have regard to any human life and thus I hope s/he gets caught asap. That, plus I'm driving up that way this week and am not looking forward to seeing overpasses on my through....Duck and cover!

Haha... this dude is crazy. I commute on the eastern and northern 270 stretch and live right off of 70. This dude will get cought in the next few days, I have a feeling.

He wants to get caught so bad that he is doing it in daylight now, with many witnesses.

I am pretty sure he has used a pistol everytime, in which case, he is not a sniper. Shooting at oncoming cars from an overpass is not a sniper and it truley degrades real snipers.

I am not worried in the least. There are choppers and airplanes circling the area 24/7 now.

He has a farm near Yellow Springs... It's a hippy college town with a bike trail and a bunch of "head shops". The only thing there is a bunch of pot smokin hippies, selling their "art". It's kinda fun to go to a few times though

That doesn't excuse the sniper as irrelevant, just not worth changing my habits over.

I still hope the paranoia not only gets the sniper caught, but any and all copycats (wtf is with this black sports car handgun shooter going around?). I think there's going to be far more "punishment" handed to this a55hat than a court ruling.

Grove City... PA, right? My brother goes to college there. Dang. I didn't know he was the strike zone. He doesn't have a car, so hey.

"(about a mile away from the Timberlake Subdivision 71 overpass incident), work at OSU." I am pretty sure that would be Grove City, Ohio...

Having lived through this a little over a year ago here in the DC area I can say that most people I knew were mildly worried but we went on with our daily activities and unlike what they were showing on the national news people were not ducking behind their cars at gas stations etc.
