Just FYI, another AI Computers thread is going here right now but for the A64 deals.

Also, there's a thread up on Apex's forums regarding this company here. Apex, the big guy at www.GotApex.com, is active in that thread and is giving AI Computers his approval. It's an interesting read - definitely worth it.

EDIT: Doh! I didn't ready this thread fully and missed Apex's posts here - I apologize. Either way, the Apex Forums thread is a good read to learn a bit about this purchase but you better hurry! Also, regarding their phones not being answered - it's due to their telecomm provider upgrading lines (data and phone). This is also addressed by Apex in that thread.

I knew this all sounded familiar, I am a subscriber to MaximumPC and they have a big write up on this company in the Watch Dog column of their May 2004 issue. The write up is less than flatering and what I got from the write up was to avoid this company like the plague. Hell this company still owes MaximimPC for unpaid advertising.

i just got off the phone with Citi and their policy is when you file a dispute you are GAURENTEED your money back within 48 hours regardless of what their investigation turns up

I would be careful of that promise. they credit it back to you, but often the investigation will turn up not enough info for them to side with you. Thus they will still charge you. That is my experience with CC companies that are not very dedicated to protecting their customers. AMEX is still the best Too bad they are not accepted at AI Computers

nope, citibank takes the charge off your back and puts it on the reseller. also, its pretyy easy to prove that they didnt ship a computer i.e. they cant provide a tracking # or a shipping confirmation

Shady06... thanks but when i got scammed before they just shipped a bunch of crap and gave a tracking number thus my old CC company sided with the merchant. but hey i still got in on this one cuz my new CC is much better =p

The company is about an hour drive away from where I live. If a couple people who place orders PM me just let me know you ordered one, and if it goes sour I can figure out a time to stroll down. Its by a big outlet mall too so no skin ogg my back.
