Which is faster, the Lexar 12x CF card or the Sandisk Ultra 2 CF Card? Are there comparisons on the net etc.? Thanks!

The SanDisk Ultra 2 CF in real situations.

The lexar is a bit slower.

Btw it will only matter if you will be using in a DSLR or you transfer back to your computer through a 'fast' card reader.

You won't notice a speed increase in a non DSLR camera.

konig is correct, 12x is plents fast for almost ll digital P&S cams, thoes pseudo SLRS might need faster cards and DSLRs definitly do, nothing like being able to fire off 15 shots on my 45x card before the buffer runs out on my d70

Thanks guys. I get customers that customers that come in that want a fast card and I try to tell them it doesn't really matter on a P &S camera...whatever lol. I think it's their thought process. I try educating them and some think that the cards will transfer faster to their PC.

Thanks for helping...

That's more computer hardware stuff so I thought since this is a camera product I'd try here.

Oh, right! "General" hardware means computers only! Right... what was Anand thinking!?

Ditto. Their cameras are not designed to be fast so a fast card would not matter. It would speed up the transfers to the computer if they had a fast card reader though.

heh JoPalm, don't worry about the cybergang ... they think they own "da interNET" and will bash you without any reason as they have got nothing better to do (other than wacking off at underage women). to answer your question, as konig already stated, you won't notice the difference unless you own a DSLR. goodluck.

How does the lens system affect the write speeds?

Wouldn't flushing the buffer quicker allow one to be ready for the next shot quicker on a P&S as well as a DSLR?
