Warning on those light bulbs: I have not had any success with ANY BrightEffects bulb. We bought seven of them when we moved into our new house two years ago. I've already had to replace 5 of them. 3 of them only lasted a few months....and that's with minimal use. Do a google search and you'll find several threads of complaints about these bulbs.

Simply put, they do not last the years and years like they are supposed to.

Sucks, because I love Lowes, but now I have to make a special trip to HD if I want bulbs.

Even with a high failure rate, given that the Lowes Bright Effects bulbs are free (if you need to buy $50 worth of other stuff), still a hot deal. Just don't put 'em in a very hard to reach location.

fwiw, I had some problems with "n:vision" bulbs from HD. Three out of 8 failed within weeks (gave 4 to friends & don't know how they fared).
