Haha, you guys are winners. If the government had stopped BoA's fee or otherwise attempted to pressure them it would have been OMGBLACKSOCIALISM OBAMUNISMBLACKBLACKFASCISMHITLERMUSLIMBLACKKENYA. If the government doesn't stop BoA, then Obama sucks.

I defend them because I want to be one, one day. Does that make me an evil person?

And contrary to popular belief most of the 1% are not screwing over the 99%. It just makes it easier to think that and justify your actions when it's 99 to 1.

I think you would have a better chance winning the Megabucks lottery and hoping to be Mega successful one day does not make you an Evil person.

What is evil is a political system which favors the filthy rich and screws over everyone else.

And? Is their regulations they are breaking by doing this fee? So what if they gave them a heads up. It doesnt mean they have to agree with it especially if its a legal thing to do. But until the news is released to the public Obama cant do anything with it. All i see is faux outrage here.

Penfed has a great cash back card, better than anything I have seen advertised by BofA.

I have no problem with BoA's debit card fee.

They have the right to make a profit, just like consumers have the right to switch banks.

The problem with your argument that you can switch banks is that all banks are in cahoots with each other.

I am generally against Nationalization except in extreme circumstances and we are now in an extreme circumstance with the banking scam industry as well as others.

All banks should cease operations and be Nationalized.

After control is restored can start over with careful regulations to make sure that they don't get out of control once again.

This goes for a lot of industries in the U.S. right now as well.

They have gotten too powerful, too rich, too greedy and is the downfall of the country.

The business community can suck an egg as far as I'm concerned.

These idiots, who produce almost NOTHING of value, put us in this predicament to begin with. Subprime mortgages, derivatives, betting against them, etc. All for what? The destruction of this country just to make a buck.

That's not the America I want to live in. I want these crooks prosecuted and brought to justice. I want SERIOUS federal oversight on EVERYTHING these crooks are doing. I want HEAVY regulations on what our financial institutions are able to do. Most Americans just want to find a decent paying job, buy a house, and raise their families. They are not infected with malicious greed that has overtaken the financial industry in this country.

Nice

Wow, says you have been on AT since Jan 2000, but I don't recall you in here. New to P&N?

So, who has been confirmed to run the CFPB? Anyone?

I don't see what the outrage here is, other than the dick move by BoA regarding credit card fees. Blaming the CFPB completely misses the mark. Many businessmen and women are actively trying to make sure it is neutered asap.

Do you want to get us back on the right track with consumer protections against these types of actions and those that lead to this current recession? Fine, then you should wish for both the appointment of Elizabeth Warren and the reinstatement of Glass-Stegal. What is good for business isn't always good for the country and vise-versa.

Oneofthesedays, I want to congratulate you. I believe you have managed to pull out and use every single cliched talking point going back years. That takes serious skill - especially since people are still arguing with you. Nice trolling.

By the way, was John Kerry black? I seem to remember a bunch of stuff going on... swiftboats ring a bell?

Hmm, or how about Bush and the national guard service? Cocaine?

We could do this all day, but I suspect you'll find it easier to just tell me I'm wrong, suggest I'm racist, capitalist, religious, or some other moniker, and move on.

Conservatives time and time again have agreed that Obama inherited a giant shit sandwich. They also have agreed that he added to this mess, not subtracted, as was his promise when taking office. Why should conservatives apologize for calling him out for what he is, a loser.

Please, get a fucking life. You know nothing about me.

OK xBiffx, I will not call you a racist, I will call you an idiot

As you tell a giant whopper in saying, "Conservatives time and time again have agreed that Obama inherited a giant shit sandwich. They also have agreed that he added to this mess"

As Obama advocates the policies that may get us out of the shit sandwich GWB and conservatives created, have no other policies that more of GWB, and then want to get credit for preventing any economic progress and recovery.

Obama can't do it alone, and this country will swirl straight down the Toilet if the GOP takes over in 2012. When the GOP tried the same policies the GOP advocates today, when Hoover was in charge, unemployment soared to 25%.

But if you listen to and believe GOP propaganda, yep fools like you all agree its all the democrats fault.

Missing in action in your unthinking thinking, xBiffx, is let the buyer beware. How can the GOP dig us out of any holes when they have learned nothing from the mistakes of GWB?

And for that matter, when the GOP won control of the House in 11/2010, the economy got even worse.

I mentioned the same fact above and it received no responses from the Right Wing forum members.

The majority of opposition towards Obama comes from white people. We are still a deeply racist nation and always have been since our inception. In reality Obama hasn't done anything to warrant the intended hatred coming from the right. They'd hate him no matter what he does because he is black and they don't want a ****** in the white house. They will never admit to this of course. It is up to progressives to take this country back and put it back on track. Conservatives have a nostalgia for an America that never existed and cannot exist in the world today.

I hate to interupt your batshit crazyfest that you have going on but they hate him because he has a D behind his name. They would hate Hillary just as much.

OTOH, I do find it rather ironic that Obama is much closer to GW than he is to a liberal yet the left defends the hell out of him and the right attacks the hell out of him. I bet that he could change his name and probably win the Republican nomination.

The article demonstrates that the Obama administration understands the difference between law and politics. The law says the fee is legal so the CFPB kept its mouth shut as it was outside their mandate. Obama, as politician, can yell to the moon out it. If only P&Ners could develop the same discernment concerning the law as written and the law as we might like it to be.

BoA was free to chart their own course for PR hell, this wasn' within the purview of the CFPB. It is amazing however that such a small amount of money can alienate so many customers across all age/race/income brackets.
