if the answer is yes. then i have a follow up question.
do you make your own? or do you buy it already made?
if you make your own, where did you get it? and what brand?
i want to drink it in the comfort of my own home and not deal with the people at the coffee shop....that is all

I love chai, but never considered making my own.

Is it easy? I, too, would like to know what chai to buy and how best to prepare it

Yes, I love it and I've made it at home many times. I've used loose herbs in a tea ball, ready to go tea bags, and even instant Chai (just add hot water). Generally, the fresher it is, the better, just like with any tea or coffee.

I'm not a huge fan, but you can buy it here: www.frontiercoop.com Search for chai tea, as far as tea's are concerned, they only sell loose leaf, so you'll need the tea ball. They sell those too.

Well, I brew some stuff labeled "Chai Tea" and dump in some warm milk and sugar. Not sure if that counts. It's pretty good whatever it is.

I've gotten that Tazo concentrated chai stuff & made it myself... a lot of times, at least for iced chai, I like it better than the ones they make in the store, just because you can experiment with the chai:milk ratio & find out what you like best (I tend to like a lot of concentrate with less milk)

I drink it all the time. I make it myself. It's far better if you use fresh loose-leaf high-grade tea and fresh spices. I generally use a Ceylon or a good Darjeeling (Puttabong), and the spices we have around the house since we make Indian food all the time.

Also, you can get a "tea masala" at Indian stores. It's all of the spices you use for chai preground, so you don't have to mess with all the spices, cheese cloth (or whatever), etc. It makes it a little easier if you need something quick, but still far superior to instant or most bottled forms.

I loe chai, both store bought (Starbucks or whatever) and homemade. They are completely different though.

This is the home recipe I use:

4-5 orange pekoe teabags
1? cinnamon bark
1 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
4 green cardamom seeds
whole milk
5-6 teaspoons sugar
5 1/2 teacups water (the actual size of the cup in which you?ll serve tea)

Kind of bastardized, I know, but it is fantastic stuff!
