Changing modems and entries

Hi,
I have an older Netcom NB304 DSL Modem from TPG with a Fixed IP and now wish to change it for a Kogan Wireless modem I have bought.


I have quite a few entries in my current modem and was wondering whether I could use the .conf file of that modem for the new one.


Is there any advice whet the best way to go about changing modems and the entries involved.

Unfortunately that's not possible. Even within the same brand, using a configuration file between models or even firmwares can be problematic. My recommendation is to screenshot every configuration page you have modified, and replicate the settings manually in the new modem/router. It's a pain, but I have done it myself and would do it again if necessary. Be sure to name the screenshots appropriately.

Netcom NB304 DSL Modem - This is a Combo Modem/Router.

It is Not interchangeable with A Wireless Router.

Thank you guys..I goofed.. took it for granted it was also a modem.

I actually bought it for better wireless reception around the house, not to improve dsl, although that would not go astray.
