Changing Windows XP Install

Hello Everyone.
I have windows XP installed in my Dell laptop. It came with Windows XP home by default and I bought XP Pro to upgrade it. Now that I have put together a new computer, I would like to uninstall (if that is possible) the PRO upgrade from one computer and install it on my new box (which is now running ME).
Is there a way to do this?

I don't think this is a violation of the EULA, because I would be UNINSTALLING the laptop upgrade and putting it in the new box.

I don't think you will have any problems. When you get to the step of activating it on your new computer, it may fail on the internet and you will be given a phone number in your area to call. You can call and explain exactly what you wrote here. They will activate it for you.
The key is that you will uninstall the upgrade from the old computer and you will install the upgrade (on ME) on the new computer.

Sorry if this is stupid, but be sure that the winXP "disk" is not a "reconfiguration disk". Otherwise, you'll also be installing the chipset (and other) drivers from the lappy onto the desktop. That won't work.

As long as it's the real windows xp disk....technically not legal (since it's oem software, it's licensed to be used only on the laptop), so uninstalling it on the laptop and installing it on your computer, is still violating EULA, so you might as well install it on both i suppose.

The laptop came preloaded with XP Home. I purchased XP Pro separately, so it isn't OEM. It was a retail upgrade version.
Now my question here is: is there a way to uninstall an upgrade of PRO and go back to Home. I have been trying and I have found no way.

You'll probably want to backup your laptop files and reformat / reinstall XP Home.

You cannot Uninstall XP Pro and roll back to XP Home, No uninstall folder was created during the upgrade, in add remove programs you will not see a uninstall XP pro.
There is no supported uninstall path.

What MrChad suggests is the way to go.
Back up all the data files that you want to keep (pictures, movies, music, Word documents, pdf files, ......). Use the recovery CD that came with your laptop to restore it to the way it was when you first bought it. Now, you are back to XP home.
