Posted this over at the Corvette forum, but thought I'd ask here too....

Specifically interested in feedback on either the R/T Scat Pack or SRT trim levels.

The daily driver is getting rather old and the Corvette is not ideal for the family so it spends 99% of it's life parked in the garage. Wanting something new, 4 seats, decent power (400hp+) and latest tech (CarPlay, lane departure, etc). The Charger looks like it's at the right price point to get me all of this and would be plenty roomy for a car seat in the back.

Any input?

Did the Bondurant Racing School recently. The instructors used Charger SRTs while wheeling us around the track or as lead cars when we were in the Vipers.

Am surprised at how well Dodge has designed the new chargers. Very comfy, and not too soft through turns in sport mode. Definitely a car I'd consider buying if I was in the market (which is about 6 months from now)

Still a pretty heavy car though. And outside a racetrack more for stoplight racers trying to relive their youth.

Please do not post in my threads. You never offer anything of value and generally just thread crap.

No love for the Chevy SS? Charger looks great on paper in a lot of ways (I'm personally not huge on the styling), but FCA scares me away every time.

You seem to like RWD V8's, but have you considered the Ford Fusion Sport? 325hp/350 ftlbs going through a trick AWD system...could be a pretty sweet sleeper...probably could bump that HP up pretty easily.

Not sure why someone who doesn't understand how online forums work is posting here.

I understand but thread crapping is not allowed here. Then again you are the new one here so maybe it's over your head.

Heard a lot of good things about the 8 speed and suspension setup on the car. I know so many people with the SS and just wanted something different. Will check out the Fusion but haven't heard much about it.

Yeah, on paper the Charger has a lot going for it...and I have heard Dhofar things about how it drives given its heft. I have also heard not great things about the auto in the SS...so that detracts from it as well. While I haven't driven an FCA with that 8 spd (ZF), U've driven several German cars with a related transmission (could be internally the same...just don't know) and have come back impressed every time.

The Fusion Sport is new for 2017...so not sure if they are even on lots. Just looked interesting.

Essentially, its a muscle car, and drives like a muscle car.
It wont handle like a vette or a v, but, if you dont care about that, it should be a hoot to drive and plenty comfortable for the whole family.

HellKitty or Nothing

That being said the SRT is the better optioned car. Some of the options I think are nice to have like wider meats at the back and better brakes. I haven't ridden in an SRT so can't really say if the adaptive suspension is worth it or not. I have ridden in a scat pack. It was white knuckle so all I can really claim is that the seats don't have enough lateral support and the arm rest is padded.

The Hellcat is always an option, but was more interested in the balance of technology and performance of the SRT or Scat Pack. I also noticed the Daytona model for '17 offers the brakes, tires and a lot of the features of the SRT, but lacks the dynamic suspension.

CTS-V with an automatic. problem solved where can i collect my check for providing helpful advice? :awe:

I would have looked at the new CTS-V, but CUE is a huge turn off.
