Chris Chambers is nasty, better than Jackson. Plus it gives you more options - now if the defense is stacking 8 in the box, you've got Gates, Jackson, AND chambers to throw to.

There goes any fantasy value Jackson had. What a bust.

It could help him actually - they might pass more, and Jackson will now (likely) be covered by a less talented CB. Its not like he was putting up big numbers as it was, so it can hardly HURT him....

I think it helps Chambers' FF value, but now I need someone to play his spot because SD is on a bye this week.

True, but then why did they bother getting Trent Green? He's got 2 years left MAX, and isn't part of any team's long-term plans, so why bother? Why not find out if some young QB can play? Why trade future picks for guys who are barely going to help now, on a team which wasn't ever going anywhere anyway. Makes no sense.

Agreed. I think dealing Chambers was an OK move, but like you said it makes little sense to have picked up Green :\

Well, Green is pretty much retired now. So, why keep Chambers?

Er, I said dealing Chambers was a good move. When did I say they should have kept Chambers

Yeah, this helps Rivers fantasy value as well but ultimately hurts Ronnie Brown's fantasy value because Miami is going to have even less of a passing game.

If the 'phins really thought they had a prayer of contending this year just by adding Trent Green, they're clearly run by idiots.

Wait, it took you this long to realize the Dolphins organization is run by a bunch of monkeys?

i think you have the sequence of events wrong, yes, the green move looks bad in light of the injury, but i think they thought that green gave them a chance at winning a few games this season.

the injury makes the move look worse.

I follow Washington, which has its own organizational issues, so I really wasn't paying much attention to Miami. However, when they drafted Ted Ginn so highly last spring, I began to suspect . . .

I'd say the exact opposite, mainly because Chambers is nowhere near as good as he's hyped up to be.

Jackson is a giant at 6-5 compared to Chambers who is a measly 5-11. If nothing else, it will help Jackson by taking the cover 2 off of him. It's the equivalent of having Eric Parker back in the lineup which would only help Jackson.

None of this matters when you see how awful Rivers, and most of San Diego, has been playing lately. Plus, they seem to be going back to the "give it to LT all the time" route.

Height isn't everything. It's certainly a bonus, but not a requirement.

Steve Smith is only 5'9"
Marvin Harrison is only 6'
Reggie Wayne is only 6'
Wes Welker is 5'9"
Laverneous Coles is only 5'9"

The best news is, I have Chambers on my fantasy team as my 3rd wideout. After under performing this season on a terrible team, I see his numbers going up much higher now that hes on a much more quality team.

Except for the fact that Rivers sucks too.

I was a little surprised that the Dolphins would make this move. Basically, they are saying "with this pick we can get someone better than Chambers". I'm not sure that's the case.

For SD it's an excellent move, it finally gives them someone (other than the TE) that they could throw the ball to. No more dropping down both safeties into the box for the opponents.....
