The point of life is to live and goddamn he's doing it for all of us. Sure he won't live to 70 or even 60 but he's lived enough for 100 life times and is doing this for all of us.

He's right, AA is a cult and they're a bunch of losers.
I wouldn't go that far, but AA and all of those "abstinence" programs seem to set you up to fail.
I guess I just look at it differently because I'm not a big drinker, and am fine with having one beer while everyone else is having 5 or 6. But to tell someone, "Fuck it, you can't have this ever again for the rest of your life or you're a loser"... that just kinda seems kinda whack (if whatever you're consuming is legal).
Hell, I'm addicted to steak. If someone told me, "Steak is bad for you, you can't have it anymore for the rest of your life because you have a problem", I'd tell them to go fuck themselves.
considering the AA requires their members to believe in a god or higher power, I'm pretty sure that qualifies as a cult
Don't you know? Alcoholism is a disease. one that you have no power over. Only by offering your soul and life up to a higher power will you ever be cured. If you don't you will remain sick. Very very sick.

to be fair, he is right about aa being bs.
If you're addicted to alcohol you cannot kick the addition on your own. I met David Crosby about 20 years ago and he told me "If you know anyone who thinks they can become sober without any help at all, send them to me so I can punch them in the stomach"
he's delusional if he think's he can just waltz back to Hollywood and jump into a movie with big names. CBS will drop his ass and he'll probably end up OD'ing. Sad but true, a shame he ripped on AA so hard, I have family members who wouldn't be sober without AA.
