Cheap 17" TFT capable of games like doom 3 etc with no ghosting?!

Hi guys,

I'm going to uni so can't carry a CRT around the world trying to get to a room on the 100000000000th floor of my tower block thingy.

So, I need a 17" TFT capable of playing FPS games like doom 3 and unreal tournament 2004 without any noticable flaws like ghosting. I REALLY can't spend that much, but can't opt for a CRT if I want to have a back in old age.

Recommendations please and thanks in advance!

Jokes aside, whats your budget and what criteria do you want it to conform to?

17", 16ms and DVI should be reasonably priced and shouldnt produce any noticeable ghosting.

about £260 max. no criteria really apart from no ghosting, preferably a black finish or black and another colour.

Yup... I have an LCD matching the specs Elcs mentioned, and I play Doom3 (as well as other FPS's) without any ghosting or streaking.

I'm loving my Sony SDM S73's. 16ms and no ghosting as far as I can see.

This is what I bought. Looks as though they have the same model here but in Black.

Price difference between Silver and Black is quite hefty. I also ordered from that place Priority. Cost me £260 and pennies, got it the next day.

No dead pixels and Im impressed with it so far. Only thing I dislike is that the USB ports arent very highly powered and are only USB 1.1's... not much of a bad thing though.

No problem. I saw that LG at Dabs.com and someone mentioned Dealtime.com which pointed me towards that monitor.

M4H - I havent had any problems with it yet, although I havent ran anything fast paced such as UT2k4. The closest Ive came to playing an FPS has been Mechwarrior 4.
