Cheap 1GB @ 250

Can someone recommend me a cheap 2x512 1GB solution capable of speeds of up to 250? The PC4000 and PC3700 are over my budget so does anyone know of any PC3200 and PC3500 that can achieve those speeds. I've looked at the benchmarks on AnandTech and saw a few PC3200 sticks capable of those speeds but it doesn't have the full name of the memory so I can't cross reference it with newegg.

the bandwidth nuber isn't the only thing to consider on memory and isn't the only thing that makes it cost a lot. some good pc3200 with 2-2-2-5 timings will be able to run those speeds if you ralax the timings and can cost a ton. i think the cheapest ram that can do 250 might be crucial ballistix or ocz 3500. i have some kingston hyperx 3700 that will do 260

Here ya go

Uses Samsung TCCD chips (the same as OCZ PC3200 EL Platinum Rev2). Runs 2.5-3-3-10-1T at 250MHz using 2.8V or 2-2-2-5-1T at 200MHz using 2.6V. Great stuff, and probably the lowest price you'll find on 1GB of TCCD.

I got some cheap pdp patriot from newegg.. its pc 3200 at 2-2-3-5.. when you relax the timing i can hit Pc4000 speeds. I get 250fsb 1:1 with no problems.. anymore than that and it will not be stable at all.. This is cheap ram with heatsinks that i think works very well.. as good as the expensive stuff. ONly cost $159 for 1gb at newegg with 99c shipping.. Cant beat that with a stick

Find yourself any cheap generic DDR with the following Hynix chips on it:-

=> HY5DU56822BT-D43

These chips will happily do 260+ @ 2.7v @ 3/4/4/8 timings.

My 2 x 512 sticks of [literally] no-name-brand DDR with these chips run at 269 fsb @ 1:1 @ 2.7v @ 3/4/4/8 in my P4P800

These are *the exact same* chips that OCZ, Corsair etc... put in their high-end expensive DDR.

Search on eBay if you need to.

You wont be disappointed and you will save a bucket-load of cash.
