If you browse for this battery through the clearance section, it appears that it's made by Delkin Devices. Anybody know if these are any good?

I have one for my SD100 and it seems to work fine. It has a slightly higher mAh rating.

Not bad deal, but there's a batter that is top rated(recommended), and for like $9.95

I think it's "sterling" or something like that..... someone care to help me remember?

sterling? since when was it top-rated? i thought it was like the worst out there.
i heard the thing is, with these generic brands, that they lose charge over time. like, after a while, they stop holding charge.

I have the Powershot S400, and have bought 4 batteries off eBay. All generic, but much higher mAh than what comes with the camera (ex 1200 mAh instead of 840).

I have had no problems with any of the cheapie eBay batteries. They work great for me. When I go out shooting on a day hike, I easily shoot 500-1000 pictures, and carry 3-4 batteries with me. Hell, they're cheap.

The SD100 probably takes the same battery. Anyway, this battery on eBay goes for about $5.99 plus shipping.

I bought two batteries from Sterling.

Kept one & gave one to a friend.

Both are doing fine & holding a charge normally. I paid less than $22 shipped I think. (it's been a while)

I'd reccomend the Sterling in a heartbeat!

The SD100 takes a different battery, the NB-3L. I think that the S400 takes the NB-1L, no?

my batteries are indeed NB-1LH for my s400. guess canon makes different batteries for the sd series, cause the s200, s230, s400 all use the one i have.

Yeah, they made the SD100 a bit smaller (they claim about 10%). In order to do this they had to switch to a smaller form factor memory and battery, so they did SecureDigital and the NB-3L.
