For good deals on all kinds of car junk, check out MMR -- I've bought some stuff there in the past... Call them up, order on the phone, and haggle with them -- they're pretty much the biggest place in San Diego. Also, they seem pretty knowledgable -- I've called just for car advice. Ask for Rino/Reno (sp?) -- but other people might be good too. Whatever...

Just make sure you don't buy a fiberglass kit. My first kit for my integra was fiberglass and that was a nightmare and a half. I ended up buying a new urethane kit and I am WAY happier now. Save yourself the headaches (and the money).

urethane kits are uber-better than fiberglass!

as for all you playing the "my car is better than your car game" I gave up on that a long time ago. Now it is about "my girlfriend is hotter than your girlfriend!"

yup, i bet ford sells 2/3 of taurus to those rental car company and say "we sold this many"
my family have both accord(2k) and camry(2k2), one of the main reason to buy these cars were of course safety but also the resale value
IMO camry is little bigger and better than accord

didnt read all the posts but just in case someone didnt mention it,

there are 2 kinds of fiberglass... sprayed (cheapy-deapy) and hand laid (thick and strong)

i made the mistake of "wow thats cheap, ill buy it right now) sad to say it was sprayed and it cracked after i "touched" another car

also, sprayed does not hold paint very well so whoever has to paint it will havea hard time.

i would stay away from all fiberglass kits. even if the manufacturer claims they are "high quality" and "strong". fiberglass will crack, and your paint will chip off very easily. most of the cost of a body kit is the paint. buying a "less expensive" fiberglass kit then dropping a lot of money on it to paint it is a waste because it will be nice for a max of 6 months. spend a little more and get a urethane kit, then when you paint it, it will last. i spent a grip painting my fiberglass kit only to have to trash it. i then had to buy and then paint a urethane one... ugh. should have done it right the first time.

well, all fiberglass is not bad. fyi, corvettes are full/almost full fiberglass. that is.. "hand-laid" filberglass. depending on the manufacturer, it can be high quality. i dont think this place is one of them though.


the bad part aobut urethane is that they dont come in mant designs for all cars. i am sure because of the high cost of manufacturing. urethane is the way to go if they make it in the design and style you like!

here's a word of advice for those buying body kits, watch out for fitment problems when the price is too good to be true. usually the cheaper ones have bigger gaps (ie. their manufacturing tolerances arent good enough) between the kit and the body. personally, i'm not a kit fan -- i like sleepers

lets not get into this my car is better than yours crap. everyone likes diff things about diff cars. a fast car means nothing in bad traffic!
