About a week ago I posted here asking for help in choosing a card. Unfortunately I was under the false assumption that I would be using a 15 or 17 inch monitor and I wont be playing Crysis.
Both have changed.

The monitor I am using right now is a rather cheap Samsung LCD 943SNX 18.5 inch. The max resolution is 1360 x 768.

The rest of the machine is:
E7200 Intel Core 2 Duo
P35 Gigabyte Mobo
4 GB DDR2

I was considering 4670 but it looks too underpowered to play Crysis. While a "very high" setting is not required; I do want to play Crysis that looks pretty and plays fluidly (around 40 fps at least).

Which card would you recommend given a USD 90 - 120 price range ?

Thanks for the advice.
I think I get a picture of what I want and can afford right now.
4850 512 MB looks nice at this price (can get one for the equivalent of USD 110)

However, there is a pretty big price difference between the same model of card.
For example a 512 MB DDR 3 4850 made by Asus is 25% more expensive compared to one from Biostar.
Which one would you recommend ?
I assume to Biostar one has crappy fan, worse warranty, slower in replacing DoA cards, etc.

I would go with the Sapphire Dual slot 4850 if you can find one. They are inexpensive, use a smaller PCB, and a better cooler which is more or less silent.

How much do 5750s go for over there? $110 would be kinda pricy for a 4850 over here since 5750s are 130 and will be much better. If you could list a few cards (such as 8800,9800, 250, 4770, 4850, 5750, 5770) and the prices you can get them at it'd be easier for us to let you know which is the best deal.

Eagle HD 4670 512 MB 128 Bit DDR3 USD 73
Biostar 9600 GT 512 MB 128 Bit DDR3 USD 85
Biostar 9800 GT 512 MB 256 Bit DDR3 USD 101
Digital Alliance HD 4850 512 MB 256 Bit DDR3 USD 114
Biostar GTS 250 512 MB 256 Bit DDR3 USD 125
His Radeon HD 4850 Icooler4 1GB 256 Bit DDR3 USD 135
His HD 5750 Iceq+ 1GB 128 Bit DDR5 USD 147
Digital Alliance HD 5750 1GB 128 Bit DDR5 USD 150
Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X 1GB 128 Bit GDDR5 USD 191

Prices from manufacturers such as Asus, MSI or Sapphire typically are 10-25% above those from the likes of Biostar or His.
8800 GTs have disappeared from the market while 5770s and above are too expensive for me.

Unfortunately the 9600 you can get isn't the right one otherwise that would be the best performance fot he money. This one is too weak to meet your requirements of 40 fps in crysis at that resolution. The one you need is a particular 9600 GSO which can actually be unlocked to a 8800 GTS 512 (http://forums.legitreviews.com/about19298.html).

Otherwise out of the ones you list I lean towards the:
His HD 5750 Iceq+ 1GB 128 Bit DDR5 USD 147

or the 9800 GT if you want to go cheap. I'm not sure what kind of warranty BioStar offers, but I do know HIS is 2 years. HIS is a decent brand I'm using one of their 5770 cards right now. I think the 1 GB of memory, lower power usage, DX11 support, and enhanced cooling (Iceq+ is a 3rd party cooling fan) justify the added cost especially since I have my doubts about biostar's warranty coverage. This is actually comparable to or maybe even cheaper than the US price for that card

You may even get the free dirt 2 game which you could sell to help with the price.
At $114 I don't think the 4850 is a good deal especially since I've never heard of the digital alliance brand before. At 135 for the 1gb version from a decent brand I'd rather pay the extra $12 for the 5750 which is a newer model and has much better overclocking potential.

Don't get anything slower than a 9800GT. From there all you have to do is determine how much you really want to spend. If you can afford one of the HD4850s then it would be a nice boost over a 9800GT.

This.

I have the one with their own heat sink and the card is silent in my PC which isn't loud by any stretch of the imagination. Runs cool too.

4670 will work fine. i just did it. high @ 1440x900. 30fps min. I'd probably say a 4850 though for some AA headroom.

30fps minimum for a 4670? at what settings because I had a 4670 and that certainly wasnt possible at 1280 on better than medium?
