The picture of the Ziggy's doesn't really do them justice. The brown is significantly darker than the peanut color they have on the website. They're more of an oak color, and very comfortable. Great deal on a great pair of shoes.

I think Zappo's may have a little problem with getting colors right. The pic and description of my Ecco's was a darker brown and the one's I received were more tan. I didn't mind, but something to be aware of.

yup, I'm having to agree with the colors being off. Got my pair today. In the picture they were light tan. In reality its a shaggy dark brown. Not bad though and quite comfortable.

My only complaint is that at first its a bit painful to walk in as the crease it creates when it bends (during walking) hits my foot pretty hard and is uncomfortable. Hopefully with more wear it will ease up.

Recommended.

BTW, for the sizes, I wear size 10.5 Barrington dress shoes (which is the tiniest bit too large) and I bought size 11 (US) Docs and they are approximately the same size (if not a bit smaller) so it worked out good.

BTW: I laced European straight and the length of the laces were perfect for it.

i like this zappo place... they are overnighting my shoes to me placed order this afternoon and it's gonna be at my door within 24 hours of order placement.

they also got a great return policy... easy as pie... if you need an exchange or want a refund you simply go into your account and printout a FREE return label and that's IT...

I got a pair of Doc's from Rugged warehouse about 6 months ago for $30 to replace the exact same ones that i got 2-3 years before that I paid $110 for. Very durable and nice shoes.

can someone who got in verify if they're actually made in england?

i heard only select models are still made in england and the rest are made in asia

okay.. so I have a pair of 8287's I've had for a long time and need replacing. The shoe is labeled 'made in england' and 'size 10' which according to this site, is a US size 11. Now I have honestly no idea what size I wear I just know my docs fit and they say size 10. So I'm gonna guess they are uk 10 since they are made in england, and order a pair of uk size 10 replacements

Got my shoes in last week but after wearing them for 3 days, I wish I wouldn't have bought them.

OUCH!!!!!!

The way these are made, they rub right below your outer ankle and push up into it when you walk, so, basically, both of my ankles are bleeding like crazy. Even putting bandages on them didnt help (And I'm wearing really thick socks also).

What I've done in the meantime is taken several paper towels and folded them over and stuffed them in my sock for extra cushioning, but its only a temp solution. I'm probably going to sell these soon because they are quite simply the most painful shoes I've ever had the displeasure of wearing.

Slag:

Your shoes must not fit right. I'd return them.

I got in on this deal, my first pair of Doc Martens and first dealing with Zappos. I'm extremely happy with both. My shoes fit like a dream right away and I was able to wear them extensively right off the back without a long breakin-which is very unusual for my feet.

I dont know, shoes are all made the same--they use the same pattern to make all this style so another pair will fit just like these do I'm sure.

I'd have jumped on this deal if I didn't buy 2 pr of johnston and murphy at $69 each. I love docs, I still have a brand new pr of safety docs from my company. If you think docs are comfortable once they are breakin', you guys should check out Born shoes too, they are much much more comfy than docs, all right out of the box.

Im thinking of ordering a pair, but I was wondering how Doc Martens fit.

I wear a 12 in tennis shoes, and 11 in dress shoes.

What would be a better size to order?

11. I am the same way and these are big if you arent wearing two socks or super thick socks.. even then, there is a little wiggle room

My 4 eyelet Doc Oxfords (I think that's the term) were very uncomfortable at my achilles. I had blisters and irritation for a bit, but once broken in, they're extremely comfortable.

Rockports are incredibly comfortable, but don't last nearly as long as my Docs.
