did everybody know about the recv, mvsc2, etc. prices there at $19.99? what about sega rally 2 for $9.99? toy commander for $4.95(i bought it for $2.44 this week)? these are all great games. target treats sega kiosks like dirt with all of the tags off the games, so you have to go ask the clerk(who is hiding from the elderly people in the bathroom). but i don't feel sorry for sega, they removed the japanese voices from shenmue.

For those of you that are interested, I found a sweet deal on a dreamcast a couple weeks ago at Sam's Club, no MIR or anything. It was $150, and it came with the Dreamcast unit with a controller, an extra controller, a VMU, and Crazy Taxi. Seemed like a nice deal to me, but I'm not sure if its still there or not.

although this deal is great.. target can go to hell for all i care.. have you even seen the dreamcast section at a target? its shoved in the corner with all the games stacked so you cant even see the whopping 10 games they have or the prices.. which makes room for the propaganda machines (sony and nintendo).
good luck even finding them at the stores.

jet grind radio is so damn fun when i played it at my friends ill have to go buy it just to give the developers some credit (even though i played the snot out of it)

Well, considering that Best Buy didn't even advertise the PS2 this week (now that I think about it, they haven't advertised the PS2 for a long time, and since I work at BB, I can tell you that the PS2 isn't selling, we have had the same 6 or 7 units on the shelves since the week before Christmas), I would say that Sony is in bigger trouble. The Dreamcast is number 1, baby, and it's outselling the PS2 to a 2:1 ratio, and it very well deserves to!

I sense a DC vs PS2 flame thread coming....
For now, DC is the best console out there w/ quality games.
It's too bad that the general mass doesn't even know that it existed.
PS2 has 1 or 2 good(not great) games but that's about it.
I probably wont get a PS2 because of 3 reasons:
1) too expensive, I'll wait until I can get it for $130 range
2) Xbox
3) lack of innovative and orignal games

I love my dc but I am concerned that the developers are slacking on releasing new stuff for dc...not to mention the amount of shelf space sega gets at many stores...I guess I'll wait to see about xbox. btw, I found 3 ps2's at target, tried to egay them but with no real interest, so sold one to a friend and will prolly just return the other two...no interest out there anymore!

4th disc is the passport disc, really not needed for gameplay, the passports gives you hints and you can upload/download some stuff

dreamcast system at bestbuy seems to be a good deal as i am looking to buy one. do you guys know how long it takes for bestbuy to send you the gift card? also, i didn't see the gift card being offered at bestbuy.com. do you think they will honor this online as well?

i just bought one today, and to answer my own question (i seem to be doing that a lot lately... , gift check is like a rebate (you fill out a form with a copy of receipt and UPC) except that rebate check can only be used at best buy.

Guys, this is a hot deal. But if you haven't heard here is the scoop:

Sega kills off Dreamcast

They're reporting Sega will continue to support it, but you can bet they'll be many more &quot;specials&quot; for DC software. Buy what you can now (ie. Shenmue), and then wait for the more lucrative specials down the road. Thats what I'll be doing. I can't wait for $19.99 games! w00t!

Even after they quit making the hardware, the games will still flow in. There's a large enough installed user base to warrant it.

Man, I hope this story isn't true. The Dreamcast is truly an excellent console especially for it's price. I've got both the PS2 and the Dreamcast. While the PS2 is awesome, the Dreamcast definitely holds its own in terms of bang for the buck and all the great titles that are out there.

Looking back, the PS2 was not worth spending $299 on in comparison to the $149 for the Dreamcast. We need Sega around to help keep the industry competitive. If Sega goes bust, just think how much the next PS could cost...$500+ for the console and $75+ for games.
