Hello,
Let me start by saying that this build is for a young cousin of mine who for whatever reason needs to build a computer for a senior project. The budget is small ~$400, and I know she won't be making anything great with this budget (hell most great GPU's are >$400 alone), I just want to see what I can come up with.
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
********Browsing and gaming, albiet low end gaming.
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
*********Trying to stay around $400 If this cannot be done, I would like to see how cheaply it can be done and see what I can do.
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
********* US - from newegg preferably
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
*********No preference.
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
*********Will not be reusing any current parts, but no need for keyboard/mouse/monitor.
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
*********I could not find anything recent for quite what I need here. I am looking around on my own though and not being ignorant to the subject.
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
*********No.
8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.
*********Most likely 1680x1050
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
*********By the first week of February
Not sure what to do about the OS yet..
I will continue my search now and see what all I can come up with. I wish I would have had a greater time frame to get this done so I could have been searching around for deals and and not felt rushed to do this, but that is not the case. Again, I know this is a super low budget, if you think something much more worthwhile and feasible can be done for a little bit more, please post and I will see what my cousin can do about funds.
Thanks again guys!
