I am to lazy to refill mine. Found some cheap ones here at megatoners. Epson cartridge black was 1.48, shipping $4.75. Reseller only had three comments, all ok, but only three.

I use their generic toner for a Xerox copier and it works like a charm for UNDER 1/2 the price of new.
$2 for a canon bci-3 ink cartridge is pretty good too...

Yes, very good site, especially for my Epson printer.

I ordered a bunch of cartridges a while back.

That's where I get the ink for my Epson 880. Can't beat their prices.

I've never had to wait more than 7 days to get my order. The last order I placed I got within 3 days and I'm in CA :Q I make it a point to always put a comment in their box during checkout. I even got an email back from them thanking me for the comments and letting me know my order had shipped.

Their Epson 880 cartridge prices are really good. What cartridges does Megatoners send out? Do the cartridges have a rainbow on them (Rainbow brand), are they blue boxes (Nectron brand), or something else?

Is the quality of these cartridges ok? I have been using the original Epson cartridges in my 860 since I once bought the Pelican brand and had nothing but problems (clogged jets etc.). Are these refilled cartridges? Thanks

Another vote of confidence for Megatoners here. I've used their cartridges for an Epson 875 and Epson 1270 with zero problems. Service is good too.

If your having problems with your jets check this out http://bb.4ink.net/ there prices on ink aren't very competitive but they have a really cool set of cleaning cartridges for some epson models. I'm planning on trying them out soon since I know on my HP something similiar really helped the print quality.

By the way put up another vote for megatoners.com they are great, and I have always had 3-7 day order time, and I too live in CA.

Just to let you know, replacement non-manufacturer made ink cartridges may be comming to an end soon.

Lexmark just sued a company using the DMCA claiming intelectual property rights on the hardware/software used to prevent 3rd party cartridges/refills to be used in their printers!!!

This is only for the cartridges that have special microchips. A lot of older printers don't have those chips, so I imagine third party cartridges will be around for them forever

And yes, megatoners frikken rocks

It has to do with the integrated heads that both Lexmark and HP use, which is why currently you hardly ever see a big difference in price been tween OEM and aftermarket cartridge prices for those brands.

On the other hand Epson/xerox and I believe Canon has finally switched over, all use a simple reservior system (ie their cartridges hold the ink, nothing else,) so there isn't much they could do to the ink aftermarket manufacturers because they aren't infringing on any patented ideas.

On a personal note, HP and Lexmark make lousy printers, I've had three HP and my parents have had two Lexmark all of them have had lousy print quality and highly overpriced cartridges, on the flip side my epson printers have run flawlessly.

By the way the HP printers I had were of good quality, I actually had an officejet 6xx series which was replaced by a epson stylus scan 2000, and I had an epson 9xx (photo) series that was replaced by an epson 700 photo. The epson's have proven to be more reliable, cheaper to run, and for the most part have better print quality.

I did a test with my Canon S450 using both Canon and generic color cartridges to see how they do on color photo printing on photo paper. The generics were okay, but the Canon carts had much more vivid color tones and better overall quality.

If you're just printing on normal inkjet paper then generic is fine, but if you're going towards photo-quality then I'd go for the name-brand stuff.

Well, aparently I am the clueless one! There should be a place in this forum to leave up these "well known" good-places-to-get-stuff sites! Maybe an edited thread of selected post by the mods? I don't know, just my 2.

This type of abuse of the legal system is just totally downright crazy.

The original intent of the DMCA was to protect copyrighted intellectual property, not to create barriers-to-entry for mfg's of physical devices. This is just total crap.

Wait until makers of removable-media devices decide to do that same, if the DMCA isn't overturned by then. No 3rd-party Zip-disk media for you!

Actually they have a pretty valid defense of "intellectual property," Lexmark and HP both have integrated ink-jets built into their cartridges, and like every printer manufacturer their jets have a "special" design to them that seperates themselves from other printers. If these aftermarket printing companies are using the inkjets that the manufacturer's have patented without having some sort of prearranged agreement it is illegal, period.

Although the DMCA act has been thrown around for crazy reason's, this is one time (probably the only time) that I side with the printing companies, HP does have a valid right to not want someone to use non-oem cartridges with their printers because the cartridges could do actual damage to their printers and their reputations. On the flip side epson has no argument because the cartridges that are used in their printers are only reservior's for ink, outside of the ink possibly clogging a jet there should be no damage to the printer outside of possible lower print quality.

Do you know where I could find HP Deskjet 932C ones for cheap from? Every deal that I see for ink jet cartridges is for Epson! I have yet to see anything for HP. I know people have have HPs so what do you guys do?

As I said in my post above, HP integrates the printer head (jets) into the cartridge, unlike Epson, what this means is that HP\Lexmark\some Canon's do not have aftermarket ink makers your choices are confined to either remanufactured cartridges\refilling\OEM (new)

Sorry but that's pretty much your choice, so you know though you could probably get an Epson 820 Photo for under $100 and since that's equal to about 4 HP cartridges why not just move up in the world?

I have had serious problems with their ink for my Epson 820 and C60. The prints heads clogged almost immediately after I replaced with the cartridge.
