Which is better? I don't know if the fan I found is AMD approved or not. The K7S5A has better expansion possibilities, but is known to be finicky (the onboard LAN stopped working on mine after 6 months). Newegg's CPU is 950Mhz, TCWO's is 1GHz.

I am looking for inexpensive parts, so the TCWO combo fits the budget very nicely. But I am wondering if it is better to spend a little more and go for the other one. What do you think?

Nice board: on board video, audio, LAN, PC133 memory 2 slots), 2 PCI + small Winmodem slot. But doesn't have an AGP slot.

Good afternoon, just a suggestion. Do a search for the Biostar M7VIG as I read it less picky about the hardware used in a system. A little more expensive than the ECS board but I believe it is gonna be chaeper when the system gets done.

You will also need to add at least $22 for a video card to make the above system equal to the substandard Trident video on the board. So, if you have a friend or relative that just wants to surf and run excel, this would be a really great system!

i got a retail 1600 from google 66 shipped and the m7vig from fti computer 60 shipped they worked great together, i like the m7vig board for a cheap system, easy to set up and no problems just my opinion

Here's a link to Gigabyte's page on the TWCO board. Looks like a great value to me. I really like the M7VIG and it does have an AGP slot and 2 slots for DDR as well as 2 for SDRAM. But I understand that there really isn't that much difference between the internet/office performance of DDR and SDRAM (at least with the K7S5A) and SDRAM is currently about half the price of DDR. Also, either board's onboard video is quite adequate for web surfing and office tasks (though the KM266 chipset is supposed to have much better onboard video for 3D gaming than the KLE133 chipset).

Actually, it has 3 PCI slots, I believe. I built an indigent crony a bargain system with the Biostar version of this KLE133 motherboard in January and it has been absolutely bullet proof, despite glop high density PC133 & having downloaded countless gigabytes of pr0n. The ECS K7S5A is supposed to be a bit picky about RAM, as well as power supplies.
Get your orders in, folks, there are only 253 left (if only I had a spare $19,000 & change.... ).

btw, i emailed them about the rev # of the board. they said they thought it was 1. also, is a 200 fsb proc.
