wow, that is a really low price for something that can do all the different levals of raid. They claim it is a closeout. The companies name is "Dirt Cheap Drives".

It says 30 day warrantee + whatever is left on the manufacturers warrantee which varies depending on when it was manufactured.

Beware their 15% restock fee for any returns.

They have a 4.9 rating on resellerratings.com

"The AcceleRAID 250 has one Ultra2 SCSI LVD channel on the adapter"

Is LVD (Low VOltage Differential) the same as a regular SCSI drive??

mamisano- LVD is not the same as 'regular' scsi, however, I believe that 'regular' SCSI drives can work on an LVD chain.

ARGHH!!! sooo very tempting, I think I'm going to have to get it. Anyone know if this has any linux drivers? These are the OS driver supports I could find....

o Windows NT server 4.0 and enterprise edition
o NetWare 4.11 & above, 5.x and SMP
o SCO UnixWare 2.1, 7.0, UNIX OSR 5.x
o DOS 5.x, 6.x and above

I don't see anything about linux. The worst thing about this deal is that I have no SCSI devices... guess I got to go get some... anyone know any good scsi devices deals out there??

Said it had Linux drivers somewhere.

Maverick, it has one Ultra2 LVD channel, and will enable RAID for the onboard controller, assuming your motherboard supports it.

Now, since there's only one channel, if I go hooking up narrow CD-ROM's, will that go farking everything up? It reverts to the lower speed, right?

LVD (Low Voltage Differential) SCSI is the 68-pin. Cable length limit is shortened because of the higher output. 80MB/sec total.

This is a great buy if you already have SCSI drives. Otherwise, the cost/performance is not worth it to switch technology. I'd stick with IDE since cost/performance is much better.

Oh, by the way the spec sheet is here.

I'm fairly certain LVD will destroy normal SCSi drives and vice-versa... as a result of the different voltages running on the signal cable.

Any SCSI gurus confirm?
