I agree nddidi, seems to be going up in frequency though. Wonder why the sudden rash of these threads? Or maybe I just wasn't looking closely enough before.

Even though this is the wrong forum, what's the harm in helping the guy out?
For the Kodak 4800- one of the best deals around now is through Staples for 499.99 and use the $50 off coupon off $500 (add something small to your order for the coupon). If you search the forum for the Kodak DC4800 thread, you'll see that listed under that topic.Then, there is a $100 rebate, so the cost will be approx. 350 + tax.
For the Canon s100- I would wait a week or two- it is being discontiued as of June 1st, and being replaces with the s110, so the prices should start to dive. the 199.99 that someone talked about wasn't a real deal- it was a mismarking on one at an isolated OD store, and isn't a real price to hope for.My guess is it will drop to the 300-325 range real soon.

recently i see lot of holy people saying "lock coming" or "please lock this" yet none of the posts are locked. and yet people continue to contribute postings. What confuse me, why do these people even want to say such a thing? I know I too so pissed with people who don't read rule, yet never cross my mind to ask for lock or saying lock coming stuff... me thinks you people are so mean in here. Let AT mods do their job.... I guess I'll have to be the cold-hearted guy and say that the harm is that you are encouraging more people to post Off Topic/Wanna requests for deals. If a person knows that it's not proper to post such a request as a new thread but also knows that people always end up answering the question anyhow, then these threads will continue to multiply as they have been doing recently. That's why I personally think a polite response directing them to a more appropriate forum is enough. . . .

I couldn't agree more treasurehunter. By letting it happen the rules become meaningless. I think perhaps we should resort to a &quot;READ THIS BEFORE POSTING&quot; thread at the top of the forum much like the one in the FS/FT forum, because it seems a lotta folks have the wrong impression for what this Hot Deals forum is for (although I'm sure some just plain don't care).

People that got the s100 were really lucky. There was never an real sale for the s100 at 200 bucks. I've tried and tried, and I am the great pricematcher too.
