Check my temps - Macbook C2D.

Early 2009 Macbook, pre-Unibody. 45nm Penryn, 2.13GHz. TJMax per Intel Ark is 90C.

I'm idling at 64C. Did some work on the innards (coffee spill, mobo swap), didn't have temp numbers from before 'cuz I'm dumb. Seems hotter than it used to be, fan's running a lot.

Wanted to see if I'm still in the normal range, or if I need to tear it apart and reapply TIM or something.

Temperature Monitor software if you don't have it.

Thanks in advance.

64C for idle sounds a little high, but the real things to be concerned about with those temps are...
1: Is the fan running loud?
2: What's your load temp?

The load temp is the real concern.

Load temp is about the same. As soon as the CPU starts getting used, it pops up to 70C, then the fan comes on. As soon as the fan is running full tilt, temps drop back down into the mid-60s. When CPU load goes away (I was watching it do spotlight indexing) it leaves the fan on for a couple minutes, slows it down, and tries to keep temps in the mid-60s.

It really, really doesn't want to go over 75C.

It's cooler in the house now, and idle temp is currently bouncing around the low 50s. So apparently it's corresponding to ambients.

You're probably fine with load temps like that.

I'm surprised to be honest, I would have expected slightly lower idles and higher load temps. But those two values you gave are definitely fine.

I think those temps are actually fine for that year and model. Just make sure you vent is properly and clean out those fans and you should be good.
