I'd personally grab attention a different way, it was probably the biggest thing I didn't like about it. We don't need any more attention around that sort of stuff if you ask me.
Is the story about a guy who thinks he's the supreme race or is about vampires? If you really want it to be both then go for it, otherwise I don't see why you'd do that.
well, i'm brown and urban so my perspective of "deal with it pretentiously" or "sweep it under the rug" are different, though my message is not anti-diversity or anti-white (the heroine is caucasian as are most of the other heroes). It's basically the old vs the new, and the vampire represent 'ancient evil,' a metaphor for race,gender, and lgbt hate. i know, a little on the nose but none of that is said - we're just dealing with vampires who really are dicks. I view it as emotional vs. physical gore, at least as intended.
