I got my new 80mm Sunon fan and my tube of Artic Silver II today. So I installed the fan and applied some Artic Silver then left to goto my girlfriends house not really thinking about the temps. When I got home (about 3 hours later) the temps were SWEET!

CPU: 37C
MB: 24C

I couldn't believe that they got so low. I'm using MBM5 btw. Just thought I'd share my excitement

Damn, that's nice. After adding two big ass 92mm side intake fans and two 80mm blow holes to my already existing 3x80mm fan setup and loud ass 60mm Delta I'm only able to get down to around 29C for mobo and 44C for cpu. Just out of curiosity, what temp do you keep your room at?

BChico-

Nice temps!

Shooters-

Not sure exactly how hot it is in my room. The AC is set at 72F. Of course I'm upstairs with this PC blowing out hot air and sucking away cold air so it's pretty hot it here. I'd say 80F most of the time.

Everybody-

Still can't hit 1ghz I got to 7x133 (933mhz) and it runs faster than my 9x105 (945mhz). It won't post at 7.5 so I guess I'm stuck at 933mhz. Oh well, still got 183mhz for free

my temp process 43
my temp mb 33 , at idle

my temp process 48
my temp mb 38 , at max

i think there's a problem with my power supply. The ps fan to weak. Anyone know a good power supply that has a good cooling.

If your room temp is 80 and the fan blowing 4800 rpms over the MB temp sensor (If you have AMD)I can't see how you getting 24C reading on the MB should be around 30 to 31c.or higher.

Mikewarrior2, where are you?

Basically, the Socket A cpu's don't have an onboard temp diode. So, they use a thermistor on the motherboard. And generally these report temperatures significantly cooler than what the cpu actually is. 10C-20C isn't uncommon.

(Did I do the explanation justice, Mike? )

And if you want to get REALLY detailed...

RayThunderEarth:I think your problem is with the case not getting the air out, sounds like you have a min tower. Being to not getting crashes the temps are not to bad.But I think you should be OK,If you can have the fan replace in the power supply with a higher CFM model by some one trained for that type work, you don't want a fire to burn up your computer because of a short.PS get you a new top of the line copper heatsink, maybe that will help out on the high pitch fan noise.

Well like I said, I'm really not sure how hot it is in here. Just taking a guess

Wingznut PEZ,

Selective thread hopping And yeah, 5C is usually the minimum, but 10-20C isn't that uncommon.

The least AMDPwrd could do is post the MB, the bios version, the temp reading program, and the loading program.

Sharkmeat,

Right on!

AmdPWrd,

The question(s) above

If you looked at my system rig you could see the MB I have the latest BIOS version I'm sure. I posting above the temp program and I'm not sure what you mean by loading program.

Loading program: What you used to induce a "load" on your cpu, or to max its temp....
