I doubt it is worth more than face value. It's pretty well used and probably pretty common. You could go to the library or Barnes & Noble and check in a coin book.

It's pretty well circulated, I wouldn't think it's worth more then $20.

I sometimes find old coins in my change, I save them just because they're kind of neat. You could always save it in a scrapbook or something, not too many people have a useable $20 that's that old

That's pretty sweet. I'm not a currency collector, but it's probably worth something, especially if there are ways you can make the condition better.

I was supprised that they had bills back in 1934 that weren't silver certificates.

Another interesting thing, look at the back and compair it with a new $20. The trees have grown up, and as I recall, there has been a few changes in the White House.

This guy's got a couple of 1934 $20 bills for sale and considering he sells this stuff retail and considering that the condition of his bills are look to be in better shape than yours, you could probably get $25 at most for it.

in a google search it said they are looking for uncirculated 20.00 1934 bills but if its used spend it ymmv

: : What is the value now of a 1934 $20.00 bill?

: if the note is circulated - Spend it, that's what we do in my area. Collectors are in search of New condition examples of this series.

from here but check it out anyway these guys are not always right

you will notice the "in god we trust" is missing on the older bills

It's a reminder of history that you have in your possesion, I would hang on to it, a good conversation item at least pointing out the differences like the "In God We Trust" is not there.

kinda cool to think about how much that bill was worth over time. Back in its day, it was probably worth... what? $100? $200? more? (in today's money) (too lazy to look up this stuff)

Anyway, yah : P

fact of matter is, you could have bought more with the 20 bucks in 1934 than you can now

Most definitely. If it is a "series" from a certain, specific date, it could mean anything from that date to 50 years older or newer.

(WTF?!
)

You should starch and iron it...it will look somewhat better after doing that. That said, it's probably not more than $20.
