Ugh your post (and if you're being serious, you as well) is so retarded I can feel my IQ lowering just reading it. How many kids do you have?

Why would I have kids? Raising kids is expensive.

My favorite part is how OP argues that raising kids is not expensive. LOL

The OP is forgetting one thing, the cost is offset by the amount of food your daughter will no longer eat.

The $720 includes prescriptions for the morning after pill the day after football games

ouch that is low...

Well, I simply cannot afford ANY of that so unless my daughter sticks to her job......this ain't happening.

Just private is that expensive. The costs with music and the routine is part of the $700 you're paying. It's hard for a hs budget to come up with that type of scratch.

Not really. She gets $20 for 2-3 hours of babysitting. Say she does it twice-3 times a week.

That's 40-60 bucks a week x 4 = $160-240 a month

They do have monthly plans.....

My favorite part is that you think throwing money at the kids for things that they don't even need/extras is considered parenting.

Parenting has NOTHING to do with money or how much you give/hand out.

If anything, that's the opposite of parenting (but yes many American families do it your way).

Here is your Iphone and some cash, now go away kid.....

An activity in HS is not synonymous with an iPhone. An iPhone is a luxury that your kid doesn't need. HS activities, sports, social things that add to the resume of the kid when applying to college and learning that social aspect of life at the HS level is something completely different.

A kid should have something like that to keep them out of trouble, at the very least. And to form social bonds with their peers. Thats why those things are important, and continue to be - like I said, when applying to college and later in life.

How do you not get that?

So pay it now and have your daughter pay you back. I'm fine with that, but denying it to her this coming year if she doesn't have enough money saved by the time school starts and having here wait a year is basically what you make it seem like you are doing. No way she probably saves that much this summer.

Quit being a douche bag and write the check now and worry about the money later.

Does prancing around in a short skirt help you get into college over there? And if so why?

shows you're socialized and had activities outside of burying your nose in a book

they're all about kids being 'well rounded' (in the pointy-elbows sense) these days

That is nothing. My sister was a cheerleader in private hs like 10 years ago. It was at least $3k each year. And there were other expenses on top of that. $700 is a great deal.

Any extra curricular activities help. For obvious reasons that I guess welsh blokes don't understand.

She could join track, chess club, cheerleading. It doesn't matter what it is as long as it is extra curricular

It may not be expensive in Eastern Europe but here we know differently. The OP is just experiencing sticker shock.

as others said its the extracuirler activity. also there are scholarships based on cheerleading

...

Really?

Why? Why would dancing and shouting at a sports team make you a better choice for an academic program?

Still doesn't explain why being a cheerleader makes you a better choice for an academic pursuit.

who says it has to?

but the idea is a person who is good in a sport is a well rounded student. they just don't want kids who do nothing but study. this has been explained to you..
