They had this promotion last year too, and this year the bears are even cuter.

Go to any Cheesecake Factory location and ask for a holiday bear. You'll get a surprisingly large and high quality teddy bear (many different kinds...open the box before you buy it and make sure it's one you like) as well as a $25 gift card for $25 plus tax where applicable.

If you're thrifty, you can give the GC as a gift to one person and the bear to another.

Bummer no CF in Portland, Oregon.

Had my first taste of CF in Scottsdale, Arizona and liked it a lot. Think I had the meatloaf, wife had the teriyaki chicken and roommate had pork chops I believe.

Next time I'll pass on the cheesecake, their regular food is delicious, good portions and reasonably priced.

Even better than the Cheesecake Factory is the Grand Lux Cafe (sister restaurant of CF). Soooo tasty.

Is this the same Cheesecake Factory that I went to? Delicious = yes. Good portions = yes. Pricing = high, even considering the portions. I haven't ever managed to get out of that place without spending $60+ on lunch/dinner for two! It's still worth it though. Even the cheesecake at $6-8/slice

Prices aren't actually THAT high over there.. yeah, you can run up a $60 tab but only with appetizer, drinks, meal, and dessert. You could expect to pay the same at Chili's or Outback.

Note that they will NOT give you change back or another giftcard for the balance when you use the card for < the face value. I received a $25 G/C and went and had dessert w/ my wife. The total had come to something like $21. I was going to leave the rest for the Waiter who came back and said that there is no change.

I thought he might be lying (trying to get $4 extra outta me) so, after asking him a few times about options and policy I gave up and left him a tip.

When I was leaving the building, I asked someone else at the front desk (Asst.mgr type person). They said also that they do not give change back OR issue new cards for the balance on G/C's and that it was a corporate policy.

This was last year, around this time, so possibly policy has changed. Someone else can confirm or validate this.

<-- Loves the cheesecake factory, but thinks the G/C policy is crap!

I think it was closer to $20 maybe even higher (but still cheaper than @ the restaurant.)

Also, they don't have the same selection at the store. The brownie hotfudge sundae cheesecake is the bomb, and can't get that @ costco's. There are other examples too.

Technically, yes. But when you buy the g/c they tell you it won't be activated until the 25th, which is a load of malarkey.
Also note that if you buy a g/c with this promotion you MUST use the entire balance of the card. It's considered a "promo" card and can't be recharged, etc.

I went to the Cheesecake Factory at Westfield Valley Fair Shopping Mall in Santa Clara. They didn't know what I was talking about. The only promo they knew about was a $2.95 beanie baby. In an effort not to waste a trip there, I bought some expensive cheesecake.

They're slowly rolling out the GC promotion. Not all areas have them. Used to work at the Cheese. Just don't eat there every day. They put butter and cream in everything. Unless you like butter and cream, in which case, knock yourself out.
