IDE RAID 0 has the potential to beat the X15 in STR (Sustained Transfer Rate), although it'd have to be very good IDE drives, on a hardware RAID, and even then I don't think it would beat it all the time. As far as access time, no IDE drive, or IDE RAID configuration is capable of matching the X15. Storage Review has benchmarks on most of these drives, and they state that access time is the most important spec on hard drives.
