chicago beer deal, vodka, others

Hi all....here's my latest in budget alcoholism. The Hyde park Coop (55th street, hyde park, chicago) has Berghoff Oktoberfest six packs for about 3.50 each. They seemed to have a lot left when i was there yesterday.

If you're in chicago, and about to buy a 40, wait! There is hope...

Seriously speaking, it's a good beer, pretty crisp. Much better than the mgd's you drank last weekend.

Binny's in hyde park (53rd street) also has an 8 or 9 dollar handle of vodka, as well as some great deals on wines (4.50 or so to about 7.00 for good quality reds, whites, and roses) if you know your wines. Ask for recommendations if you dont, and i'll do my best.

I don't know if we are allowed hot deals on alcohol but I bought a case, 24 bottles of Octoberfest up in New Hampshire at BJs for $16 a month ago. Best part is that NH doesn't have a tax or bottle deposits. Gotta love live free or die.

i didnt know either, but my last post on this appears to have passed either unnoticed or with approval. I'm sure they'll lock it and email me if the mods decide it's not allowed...

The aup, as far as i can see, only bans tobacco and porn, but not alcohol, for some reason.

And unfortunately, IL does tax this stuff

hmm... Went to liquors stores here in Nome and the cheapest beer I found was Natural Ice. $9.00/half rack.

Maybe it telling me I need to move.

Best of all its reading period at the University of Chicago, great way to prepare for finals week.

The 55th Coop is on the corner of 55th street and Lake Park Ave. (under the Metra, just a little west of Lake Shore Drive).

Don't drink, my roommates do, I'm sure they'll appreciate this.

Am actually in hyde park (behind powell's bookstore...believe me, i know where the 55th coop is.

Where do you guys party on weekends...we had one in our building last night, were you guys around?
