Definately not wasted! Please keep posting the ads if you have the time. Some of the deals at Fry's are regional so local confirmation of the deal is very helpful. I'm using the 120 GB WD SE drives I picked up at the grand opening sale in my AMD 64 combo. The only component left that I need is a decent video card but I'm holding out for the 6600 GT. But if Fry's has a killer deal on the 6800 GT in a couple months .

Correction, from the ad that 8x dvd writer looks to be dual format not dual layer or DL. Correct me if i'm wrong and if I am will have my brother pick up one.

Nope.

CA ads show it for $99 - $30 rebate
DG has it for $109 - $30 rebate, but not advertised.

They will not honor CA prices...

It's advertised for $99.99 - $30 MIR in L.A. but it's actually on sale for $89.99.

The rebate ends 8/31 so it's fairly likely they will run this again the next couple weekends. Maybe Antec is clearing out excess inventory of the Sonata (new model on the horizon perhaps?).

Shelf tag is at $89.99.

I doubt there is a pricing conspiracy, Fry's just rotates different deals through their markets.
