The $79 model shows the Chieftec model number as DX-01WD. Chieftec's site shows that as having (4) 5.5" bays and (4) 3.5" bays (plus 2 floppy bays). The $75 model shows the Chieftech number as DX-01W (without the "D"). Chieftec's site shows this to have (3) 5.5" bays (plus 2 floppy bays) and (6) 3.5" bays. Newegg lists both as having the CTW420 power supply, (although the title line for the DX-01W says 400 watts). These appear to be the exact same case and power supply, but configured differently in the split of space between 5.5" bays and 3.5" bays".
Is this anyone else's interpretation too?
Edit. Now that I look at Newegg's description of the $75 model again, it says it's a model DX-01W and has (3) 3.5" HDD bays. It also describes it as an Antec SX 840 equivelent (which does have 3 HDD bays). But model DX-01W on Chieftec's site says that model has 6 3.5" HDD bays. Looks like a mistake on Newegg's site??
>>I interpret the D as meaning there is a door over the drives-like the antec 1030-1040<<
That makes sense, but the model without the "D" also shows a door on Chieftec's site. (The side door). Or perhaps you mean the door over the front bays. I bet that is it. Thanks!
