I really do not know where to start on this. While there are women forced to be sex toys (Indonesia and such are bad for it) that is not the question at hand. Kiddie porn is.

I am all for castration (without pain blockers at that) for those that get off on 4-12yr olds. heck i have even turned one guy in for it and was the main reason he went to jail.

But 16+ is a different story. Men are hard wired in to look at them. that is the age where they start to "bloom" and usually the most beautiful. Over the last oh 100 years it has became taboo to marry kids that young even though it has been the norm for most of the time.

A friend of mine works in the Best Buy tech department. Just yesterday they across some child pornography on one of two computers a guy bright in to have serviced. They called the police, who promptly confiscated both computers. The guy may already be sitting behind bars. It gives me a little faith that these perverts will be caught and punished.

so true. there is a HUGE difference between looking at pre-pubescent and post-pubescent porn. Post-pubescent males and females are physically and mentally 'programmed' to be sexual people. I'm not saying it's a good thing that 16 and 17 year olds should be in the porn biz but most of them are at least fully sexually matured but just dont meet our artificial 18 year old standard.

Ummm....no offense, but....you DO have a documented relationship with this attorney, right? I mean, if you happened to visit a site under investigation or something and they got your IP, *you'll* be going to prison too, unless you can prove you were working for the courts.

I've heard of lawyers "asking" people to investigate something illegal on the net before without providing a written contract for the work to assist in "sting" operations (IE., the FBI is monitoring a specific site and trying to get all the traffic they can on it). Entrapment? Oh, definitely, textbook case. But, with no written proof, how do you prove it?

Anyway, no firsthand experience, just sayin'. Wouldn't trust lawyers, FBI, or police as far as I could throw them. Somebody asked me to do something like that, I'd tell them to f*ck off and do their own research.

Thanks for looking out, but that was the very first thing I asked. I am an MP in the Army Reserve, so I went in understanding full well what the legal ramifications and procedures were for covering my ass in something like this. Besides, we were trying to gather more information from the evidence collected by the investigating agency, so we DID NOT visit any associated sites. We simply conducted WHOIS lookups to gather any additional information which may assist in the prosecution. I indicated that if I felt the need, I would render a sworn statement to clarify what was being done and why and have the attorney sign off on it.

I agree with this viewpoint. I find child pornography and molestation to be revolting and disgusting, but until we as a society are willing to discuss it and find its true causes we'll never find a preventative cure or answer.

As a Sys Admin, I know enough not to EVER VIEW anything that is Child Pornography. If we ever find anything (which we haven't) that is suspected CP on our servers, we would simply mark the location, get info on the user, and call the FBI. If you actually view more than the file names, you then become just as guilty as the person who owns the files. Just a word to the wise... It's extremely serious business.

That's an interesting query.
As a parent, it obviously sends up flags.. but, again, it doesn't violate anyone specifically (as jpgs and such depict an actual child) so it's virtually impossible to say a crime is being committed or perpetuated.
I would protect my kids from anything I saw as a threat.
Legally, I don't have an answer- that's a tough spot.

Hahaha funny topic here. You do make a valid point. However, the only difference I see that a 4-12 year child may not have the cognative reasoning to understand being exploited where as an older teenage does. A 16+ year old teenager is still a child in my book. They may seem so grown up nowadays but they stil have a lots of growing up to do whether they have "bloomed" or not.

All I would like to add is that if someone violated my daughter in that way if she is over 15 I would probably use 1 bullet on the perpetrator. If she is under 15, maybe I will shoot them in the nuts first.
