Child pornography investigation

I have never been so filled with hatred in my life until I had to view the evidence for a child pornography case today. The attorney needed assistance in locating information on some of the information contained in the pictures, so unfortunately, I had to view the evidence. I could literally kill someone right now because of what I just had to see. Rage is the only word that can begin to explain what I feel at this moment.

Has anyone else had the misfortune of assisting in such a thing? I need some moral support right now.

Moral support? You're enraged because you've been exposed to it. Doesn't sound like you need any moral support, to me. Sounds like you're already in the right place, morally. :thumbsup: It sucks that you have to see that kind of thing, but take that disgust, that anger, that passion, and put it to good use.

Ummm....no offense, but....you DO have a documented relationship with this attorney, right? I mean, if you happened to visit a site under investigation or something and they got your IP, *you'll* be going to prison too, unless you can prove you were working for the courts.

I've heard of lawyers "asking" people to investigate something illegal on the net before without providing a written contract for the work to assist in "sting" operations (IE., the FBI is monitoring a specific site and trying to get all the traffic they can on it). Entrapment? Oh, definitely, textbook case. But, with no written proof, how do you prove it?

Anyway, no firsthand experience, just sayin'. Wouldn't trust lawyers, FBI, or police as far as I could throw them. Somebody asked me to do something like that, I'd tell them to f*ck off and do their own research.

i found kiddie pr0n on someone's computer whilst installing a new hard drive for him. i felt the same and i can sympathize. i wanted to bash his face in with a cinder block until it resembled bloody oatmeal but instead i just went to the cops.

there are some sick fvckers out there and it REALLY sucks when you are personally confronted with it.

absolutely the best advice for a situation like this. Do not trust lawyers period. Always get something like this documented.

and go have a beer and hug your kids or something...you are doing good buy sticking these types of people behind bars.

When I was working for an in house pc repair company I had a customers machine and we were cleaning it up installing new memory and such. I was removing IE temp files and as usual they had so many the pc would lock up. Had to go in and manually delete them. Well as I remove them I notice lots and lots of
beastiality links. So these people have cats and dogs running around the house. Called the boss and told him to never send me to that house again. I also had a guy that was acting weird once same deal I start cleaning up the junk and run across a not so hidden folder with pictures of him and some kids. Turned it in to my boss
and they gave it to the police.

I used to own a computer store a few years ago. I had a reputation as someone who didnt care what was on the machine (warez etc) well one guy brought in a machine because it was not working right. the guy had a YOUNG (around 5) girl with a "toy" as his background. needless to say i was shocked. i did a quck search and found a bunch of other pictures.

Needless to say i called the cops.

I have seen underage porn, but it was back when I was pretty close to the same age as the girls in the photos. (Never underestimate what a teenager can find on the net) I happened across some young child porn whilst looking, like 8 years old and younger... pretty twisted. It didn't anger me so much as induce intense revulsion. It's hard for me to fathom not having that little part of your brain that makes your stomach go all twisty when you contemplate sex with someone who hasn't hit puberty.

Anywho, there's a professor here at the Uni who's on a regular contract with the DA's office (or some similar office) to examine any child porn they come across in electronic form. He figures out if it was taken with a digital camera or scanned in from a photo or something similar, even what kind of camera was used, the film, etc. One of the hazards of being good at something like that.

I've never viewed those things and have little idea as to what child molestors do with children. i'm curious tho. What do they usually do? force the kids to give oral sex?

I agree, they should be put away and throw away the key. The sad reality is that the sentences aren't stiff enough and it is too easy for them to get back into society and blend in, regardless of how many "lists" of sex offenders are out there.

Not sure which show it was, perhaps Law & Order or CSI, but the cops were doing a search for sex offenders in a given area (this is all Hollywood of course) and the entire map was chock full of the little red icons indicating sex offenders lived at that location. Hollywood sure, but it's probably not too far off the mark.

I seem to remember a case where the guy got 200 years for pictures on his computer. it was something like 2 years for each one.
