Awesome movie...actually went out and purchased a copy after I watched it instead of downloading it...

I rented this a couple weeks ago, and I really enjoyed it. I thought those long shots were really well done; one of the special features shows how they did the car scene, pretty interesting.

Can you offer up anything other than overrated? Saying that it's overrated doesn't mean anything. Anyone can say anything is overrated.

Where could the ending have gone? The point got across and fugietown was just blown up by F-22's..

I thought it was insanely boring and they could have finished the entire movie plot with the last scene.

It doesn't matter how. What matters is that there is hope. Hope is the underlying theme to the movie. Watch it again with that in mind, and take time to focus on the main character and how that theme applies to him as a representation of humanity.

i'm going to sound like a snob, but oh well...

you're one of the few people who've posted in here that actually "got" the movie.

...and i thought the acting, cinematography, and sets were spectular.

I took the pig as a nod to Pink Floyd.

great movie. I saw it recently on DvD, and I particularly enjoyed the documentary on hope, human migration, climate change and economics. James Lovelock is the ****** (I actually thought he had been dead for several years). I think I'll buy it for the virtue af that doc alone.

ya, the pig was a nod to Floyd. That dude's condo (complete with the David and Rembrandts) appeared to be set at Battersea Power Station--certainly a nod to Floyd. Although, wasn't it demolished ~2 years ago?

Like I said, I wish the boat had run that woman over, it would have made all of their efforts null.

watched it yesterday, wasn't a great movie, was decent at best. I didn't like all the plot holes.

meh, this one is way overhyped. Ok movie, worth renting for sure, but like most British films it takes an idea that could be an Epic and turns it into mediocrity. Other than Monty Python and 007 movies, British Movies pretty much undermine themselves.

Overall I didn't like the movie because I just didn't care what happened to the main characters. Because of that I never really got into the movie and thought exciting things like, "Hey, I should do some laundry tonight," while watching it.

I did enjoy the cinematography, the action scenes, and how the movie did not explicitly explain everything. Too many movies feel like everything must be spelled out. Oh, and I liked the Floyd flying pig.

I really loved the action packed scene at the end where the camera follows him the whole time while hes going through the camp. Definitely had that Half-Life2 feel to it.

SPOILER *** Since the main character never picked up a gun, I'm going to guess that the movie was also anit-gun. Without thinking too much, I can think of two times where he had a chance to get a gun and he just left them sitting on the ground.

I'm not sure it was exactly "pro illegal immigration" but it was sure anti-walls. If you want to really know what it was about, rent the DVD and watch the documentaries after the film. VERY illuminating - there's a lot to this film, very postmodernist.

Also not picking up a gun sure kept him alive, whereas everybody else with guns was dieing in the fighting. Not anti-gun, just more realistic non-schwarzeneggerian plot line.

That five minute tracking shot at the end was absolutely nuts. My fingernails were all gone by the end of it.

Snob away. It's a shame that it takes a Saving Private Ryan to get any ideas across to people in this country. And by ideas I mean idea - SPR was pretty much singular in scope, and that's the only reason people 'get it'.

I'm not saying that if you don't like the movie that you're uncultured, just that you probably are.

I thought it was an amazing movie with an incredibly original premise and great plot. Also Clive Owen is one of my favorite actors.

The action scene was the only really good part of the movie. The plot holes held it back from being a great... the book was much much better.

It was okay I would give it a B+. It reminded me a lot of Jean-Claude Van Dammes Cyborg flick. If you have not seen it you might want to check it out. It is probably his best if not the most unique of his movies and yes I agree most of them are pretty crappy. Made before he got that ugly knot on his forhead.
