This flick caught me off guard and really kept me on the edge of my seat like nothing i've seen in many years. Seriously this movie really stressed me out.

The pro-illegal immigration politics of the movie got on my nerves.

SPOILER *** Since the main character never picked up a gun, I'm going to guess that the movie was also anit-gun. Without thinking too much, I can think of two times where he had a chance to get a gun and he just left them sitting on the ground.

I don't get it. People seem to like this flick a lot, and rotten tomatoes gives it a high rating... I watched it this weekend and thought it was anything but exciting or a thriller. It was full of plot holes, improbable/implausible situations, had lackluster acting and generally did nothing to keep me on the edge of my seat. I didn't find myself rooting for the lead to succeed in his quest, I was pretty much disinterested in the outcome.

My guess is the 'critics' just love the whiney pro-illegal-immigrant story line, to me it was just boring.

Shrug, guess to each his own.... I'm just glad I didn't buy it (a friend downloaded it and brought it over).

I thought it was pretty good. Maybe the hype built it up and it was not quite the movie I expected. I'm still not sure what happened in the end. Are we to assume they now know how babies are made?

It doesn't matter how. What matters is that there is hope. Hope is the underlying theme to the movie. Watch it again with that in mind, and take time to focus on the main character and how that theme applies to him as a representation of humanity.

Deffinitely not a great movie imo, it just didn't really seem to have much of a point, at least no more than any other action movie you see comming along all the time. I mean what differentiates it from all the other action/adventure movies that don't get such good review here? It did have some well shot scenes (like at the end), but the storyline just wasn't that compelling imo.

I have a question. Do they ever explain why there was so much chaos in almost in the countries and why there were so many refugees going to England and being locked up and stuff? Was it because of how ppl cant reproduce?

my understanding is that england was the only country that hadn't fell into complete chaos and was still in order and the only way to keep that order is to keep everyone else out and the reason why every other country had fallen apart was because there wasn't any reproduction going on.

No, but I am assuming that people didn't give a crap once they realized they can't reproduce. UK was the only country with some order remaining, so people were flocking to it. Refugees were unwanted because they will "disrupt" the only order left in UK.

EDIT: I found the movie OK, not spectacular or anything. Depressing movie.

Perhaps, but the movie did not portray the pro-immigration movement in a positive light...if anything, because the pro-immigration movement chose to exploit the pregnant girl for their own political agenda, and almost got her killed in the process, I would say that the movie demonstrates that any ideology is prone to the darker instincts of human behavior.
