If the damn Communist government would just get out of the way the Chinese people will prove just how capitalistic they can be and show us lazy assed Americans a thing or two about opportunity and economic progress.
The potential of this country will amaze you!

I'm Chinese American. I was born here and here is my perspective.
China will become an economic powerhouse in the future and be a close ally of the United States -- we will be friends because the Chinese are basically capitolists at heart (my mom loves to gamble). Because of this and Chow Young Fat and Yao Ming, Chinese men will become more desirable to women. Women around the world will constantly hit on us and make passes at us.
That's all I have to say on the subject.

Their current rate of growth keeps up, (~7%) they will will have the world's largest GDP in just over a decade. And keeping up this growth for 10 years and beyond is quite doable, since other asian economic "tigers" (japan, korea, taiwan) managed to keep up this rate of growth for decades.
China definately has the potential to displace the US as the world's biggest superpower both economically and militarily. Its up to the chinese government and people to realize that potential.

Give it time. Things need time to change. This is a start.

Only problem there is real evidence that china economy has been stagnant, not growing.
Um. We did monopolize the laundromat business. Every single Chinese person I know over the age of 40, has, at one point or another, worked at a laundry. Koreans just took over.Originally posted by: spankyOO7

I have this feeling we will open restaurants all over the world and dominate the take-out business.
