China's Military: Scared?

Anyone fear China's military? Besides their possible 1 billion man army....

I saw some news photos recently of their air force, seems like they have no chance.

I dont think they stand a chance attacking anyone, but defending, maybe, up to a point.

They can have 10 Billion men and it wouldn't matter.. they could never afford to deploy them anywhere in such great a number, especially overseas.. maybe to their neighbors but really it's only true value is as a deterrent to invasion by other countries..

Actually, if they would, they could.

The only things that holding china is, it would impact of world's economy - which has US ties with it. Now, china is in wto.

One billion men doesn't mean anything if you can't deploy them, and China'a Air Force is a joke as well as their Navy. I am not afraid of China in any capacity, hell they have to steal their technology, what does that tell you. Communism is dead....those idiots just haven't realized it yet.

I agree that the Chinese navy does not have the true 'deep watter' capablity of of the US or other naval powers butthe airforce is the largest in the world I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The have some pretty good russian aircraft like the SU 27 SU 34 Mig 31..... checkout this link:

Although they don't have the capability to do long distance or carrier style air operations......... I think any nation that attacked China would be hard pressed when it came to air combat.

Once again judging China using pure numbers is a mistake. Remember all the stats about the Iraqi army right before the Gulf War? It doesn't matter how many planes and men the Chinese Air Force has...they are completely outclassed by the US Air Force...as is any other nation in the world.

It's very naive of everyone to think that China is not a threat. They have ICBMs that can reach us too, you know? Obviously one of the main stopping points for invading Taiwan is political. If they did that U.S. would surely intervene and all out war would break lose. Taiwan doesn't have to steal technology like China, since the U.S. loves to give away plans for their destroyer ships away. Do you seriously think the U.S. will stay a super power forever? Hell no. History has shown that it's not possible, look at all the countries and civilization that has risen and fallen over time. China will grow more powerful soon because their economy will boom. It's only a matter of time.

BTW China stopped being a communist country awhile ago, back when Mao's reign ended. The later dictators saw the flaws in communism and they introduced alot of capitalistic features.
