Never take at face value the statements of the Chinese. They can make a statement in public and do the opposite behind the scene.

Jeez, you don't think they can do the same to us? They're probably thinking the same thing when it comes to a$$holes like you.

So there are at least strong-minded f*cks from China. So what does that make you? A weak-minded sorry piece of backwater trash I guess. Go back to school and take a class in Asian History. Get some edumacation and learn something. It's obvious you don't know squat about the world and need to stop suckling yer momma's 80-year old nipple.

<< In China, a top official warned U.S. retaliation would ?aggravate terrorism and violence? >>

China can stick it up their ass. Big deal if we aggravate Terrorism and violence, they'll know it's us right? so therefore it is our problem. Second of all... when has anyone ever helped us???? We go over and help out when the nile river floods, or we go and balance out economies by putting our money into their stocks, or we go and protect smaller innocent countries from the more powerfull and tyrannical countries. All the countries in the world except for Russion fly american made airplanes such as boeing, or Lockheed martin. No one ever helps the united states or gives them aid when there is an earthquake in california and half of San diego is at the bottom of the pacific ocean. There are three countries honestly on the United states side right now -- England, Canada, and Israel. If we come out of this at the end and we decide that we no longer want to be a part of International economy -- then a ton of countries are going to be hurting. There is the awefull misconception that "The most powerfull country in the world" can take care of it's self, I guess it comes with the title. Well... for the most part it's true, but what happens whent he most powerfull country in the world JUST takes care of itself? We don't need anyone, you need us.

nobody said otherwise... they were just saying what they think would happen.

there are a lot of offers of help, it's just that the u.s. doesn't usually accept them since they don't need it. and the whole foreign affairs thing is more or less for america's own sake than anybody elses.

All the countries in the world except for Russion fly american made airplanes such as boeing, or Lockheed martin.

private companies... unless i'm mistaken.

Yes no other country has ever helped us. All China is saying is that if we attack terrorism especially Bin Laden, as a result other followers will increase there terrorist attacks. Isn't this similar to when US wage their war against hacking. A whole bunch of hacking heroes were arrested like Mitnick and as a result, there was an increase of attacks during that period.

Riskhk - Honestly I don't think our country should just go after Bin Laden, I think we should go after him and then once we're done with him, wipe the dirt off our hands and find the next group of terrorists and make an example of them, eventually

A. - Terrorist groups will be scared to attack

-or-

B. - We will eliminate them all (that's a bit of a stretch though)

If we blew up Afghanistan today and said we are out looking for other terrorist groups, you don't think that other nations would point to where certain terrorist groups are so that we don't turn their country into vapor?

<< Too bad the rest of the world aren't as weak minded as their people >>

How ignorant can you be to make crass generalizations about a people as a whole? You are telling me that their entire population of a billion people are weak minded? Do you not remember the Tiananmen Square incident where thousands of college students fought and died for democracy?

I agree that the communist government in China is morally corrupt and highly hypocritical, but to attack all Chinese is being just as ignorant as those who are attacking all Arabs in the United States because the terrorist were Arab.

You are absolutely narrow-minded and blatantly racist, I am positive if it wasn't for the medium of the internet that you would never ever make these inflammatory comments. You are the "pussy"!

UT4EVER,

I do not like the Chinese government very much.

However, you are weary, stale, flat and unprofitable. You are grimy, squalid, nasty and profane. You are foul and disgusting. You're a fool, an ignoramus. Monkeys look down on you. Even sheep won't have sex with you. You are unreservedly pathetic, starved for attention, and lost in a land that reality forgot.

It does seem kind of hypocritical and contradictory...

But why are some people turning on China all of a sudden and suggesting that they are behind these terrorisms? How outrageous...just as outrageous as the time that Jan Michael Vincient was arrested on charges claiming that he was "under the influence" and "drunk" before a court appearance. Or the time that the 15th Century Bohemian Monastary was devastaed by a giant earthquake! None of these ever made sense... and so does these accusations.... No evidence what so ever. Guilty by association!? BLAH!

People are just jumping to conclusions...and that is a fallacy!

Hi all, I'm partly amused and partly disturbed by this quote (pulled from the article above),

?We are opposed to the disregard of principles of international law in launching armed operations or violence under the pretext of anti-terrorism which infringes on the state sovereignty of others,? said Xue, deputy director of the Crime Investigation Department at the Ministry of Public Security.

.....does anyone else see this a hypocritical and bigoted statement? So...what they're basically saying, is that IF Taiwan resorts to terrorist attacks on mainland China, then China won't mess with Taiwan anymore? What a load of crock.
>>

Please explain what the crock is.

This act of terrorism was not carried out by a sovereign country. We therefore have not country to declare war on. Justifying an invasion of Afghanistan from an international law perspective is going to be tricky business. China is saying that they will not approve of the United States charging around the world dropping bombs wherever they want without proper justification.

I don't believe it is particulary hippocritical and where you get "bigoted" from is beyond me.

This guy is not upper-level; I doubt that he is officially speaking for China.

I think this guy belongs to the secret police branch. Most military folks in China don't want to cooperate with the US because of recent incidences.. The civilian branch of the government are trying to improve relationship with the US.

Crock is, that China is "opposed" to the disregard of principles of international law in launching armed operations and violence...which infringes on the state sovereignty of others.

But yet, China in turn, can harass Taiwan - launch missiles into the waters surrounding Taiwan - threatening Taiwan for "reunification" (if there ever was such a thing).

I might have left a few choice words out, but those words are not necessary. The message still stands, and it stands for the example I just stated. I'm not relating this to any future American military operation of anything.

That is what I see as hypocritical and bigoted.

Read my post before you choose to make assinine replies. Thanks.

China does not recognize Taiwan as an independant state and claims it as its own territory. Given this, they can justify (right or wrong) that their actions are not unlawful. They are saying that as long as theUS abides by the rules, all will be well.

I too believe that Chinese politicians are often full of sh!t, but I don't see the hypocrisy here. As for the bigotry, there is none here. end of story. No bigotry. none. bubkis. nada. zero. zilch. etc...

You misused hypocritical and bigoted in your first post, and now you have misused assinine.

Never get into a semantical arguement with me. You will lose.

In response, the US does not recognize Taliban sovereignty either. In fact, China doesn't even recognize the sovereignty of the Taliban regime.

Thus, in their warning to us not to attack Afghanistan is hypocritical because they pull the same crap themselves, and then stand on the grounds of imaginary "principles."
Hypocracy: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not.

As for bigoted: One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.
Seeing as to how they have to criticize the position of the US...

And as for asinine, given my argument above it might just apply...

the only thing you have on me is the fact that I spelled it wrong - supposed to be one s instead of two.

i'm not seeing the hypocrisy. remember the civil war in the u.s.? i liken it to the china - taiwan situation. i mean, regardless of who is in the right, you have basically a rogue state... or states in america's case. and it's not like america owns afghanistan or ever did.

I had spent the last couple hours searching online Chinese newspapers and couldn't find anything about what this dupty director Xue might have said. I wonder where MSNBC get its hand on this.
