Thats what happens when you don't have self absorbed, entitled, ass hat union workers.

Shit actually gets done.

people that hate unions crack me up. You do realize what life was like for the common worker before unions right? Unions are fine, it's the pathetic people america is full of that are the problem.

I don't inherently hate unions, what I do hate is "progressive" government policy that favors unions over business. The playing field should be level, not heavily slanted to the unions.

Unions, I have no problem with. Its the government laws that give unions special privileges to rape America that I have a problem with. In a free market, a group can form a union and a company will be free to fire everyone and hire people not from the union. In the US, that company will be sued if that happens.

There is no legislation required for the protection of Unions. The 1st amendment covers Unions completely, everything else should be revoked.

there was a time when we needed unions. there is a time when they get too big and cause more interference, corruption..etc just the same.
The problems i think are with the workers themeselves, union or not, if your too lazy or file grievance cause you can't handle an ass chewing by your boss or whatever then you become a liability.
i never understood why people can't just go to work and directly do their job that they agreed to from the beginning.

Yeah I mean you signed up to do a job, if you're going to bitch about that then quit. I can understand signing up for a certain job and bitching about having to do aspects that aren't in the scope of the job you were hired for, but bitching about the job you were hired to do? Only a moron puts themselves in that kind of position.

LMAO, you're fucking retarded, private unions have declined over the years you fucking idiot. The capital class has been destroying blue and white collar jobs over the years with outsourcing and even with the 'favoritism' that you claim the government has with unions, nobody's unionizing in response to the job loss.

It's not the unions that are controlling government, it's big business. All sides are run by the corporate overlords.

why is everyone trying to hard on the quality of this building? prefab or not, steal box frames are used to build every single building on the United States greater than 4 floors, and pretty much never collapse.

on another note, anytime there is an achievement by a non-westerner, you can see the true racism and insecurities of westerners on this board.

Prefab buildings is nothing new, though? We have prefabbed apartment buildings everywhere here.. they're OK but a major problem is that they all look alike since they're made of the same elements.

If you count all the time spent manufacturing the elements and planning everything, I guess it took a lot longer than 6 days..

Pretty much shit.

Imagine if you had to live nearby while they were doing construction 24/7? Holy shit, i would go absolutely nuts at the noise pollution.

It wasn't 24/7 it was 24/6 and only 24/6. I would much rather them knock that shit out in 6 days, which would really only be like half as many hours of noise as 24/6 would be because I'm not home all day, you know I have a job like a regular person. 6 days then it's quite vs month+ of noise? Yeah no thanks. I'll take less hours of noisiness.

But you don't need to pay workers for 2 years to complete the building.

My problem isn't that it's prefab, it's because it's Chinese, and it's rushed. Chinese make junk, and rushing things doesn't improve quality regardless of what your boss tells you.

that shit doesn't matter though. All that matters is the basic construction took 6 days. This means the crew that throws up the buildings can move to the next one and throw the next building up, then the finishing crews come in. It's quite an efficient model and it's sad as all hell we CAN'T do this here in the USA.

Say what? The houses here are framed out in less than a day. The builder pours a bunch of foundations on one day (we refer to the concrete pumper truck as the "spore truck" because a few days after its arrival houses start popping up like mushrooms). Once the foundations set, the trailers show up in front of each house site, one pre-fab house frame per trailer. The crews show up and bang them out, sometimes two per day. Then the roofers show up, then the windows guys, then finally the stuccomatic crew who drop in the For Sale signs as they pull away. The houses are utter garbage but they have the square footage Americans crave.

If you read the story, it stated that the building was designed to withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake.
Design is good, but then it's up to the construction workers to ensure that it was built accordingly.

"Oh crap, we're out of welding sticks.....well, we'll just use rivets for now. They're the same thing, right?"

You're thinking so small. I work in construction management and I can tell you right off the bat from that video that the safety measures over there are nothing compared to Western countries.

The construction of the frame took 6 days but there's still a shit load of work that still needs to be done on the interior and exterior. You have the finishes, the MEP, the HVAC and all the commissioning. If that exterior was prefab then the building's envelope isn't gonna be worth shit.

There is a shit load of work that went on before this video was shot that isn't accounted for. Disregarding that work as trivial is ignorant.

Building codes in China don't really exist. You wants something, it goes up. It's one of the reasons everyone is leaving the US.

Including the "junk" of a PC you used to made this post. Heck, we should be grateful that China is making that for us at low, low prices.

Robots build electronic parts, and it wouldn't surprise me if the robots didn't come from China ;^)
