From what I've heard of the album, this is one of the weaker songs.

The "mastered" Rhiad and the Bedouins is pretty good, I like it a lot. I hated the older version that circulated for years, especially the live version.

Faith No More absolutely sucked.. I was so disappointed. I had 2 FNM albums and was really pumped to see them, but the singer just deep-throated the microphone the whole time and messed up the lyrics to War Pigs.

GNR was definitely the highlight of that concert. Axl's vocals were spot on, and Slash was tearing up the guitar.

As an old GnR fan I can say there is something missing. Rose wasn't ever really a great singer, as his strong point was a lyricist. Not having Slash (the missing Cog) is clearly evident listening to the radio release. I really wanted it to be good too SLASH COME BACK!!

Meh, you could turn on any modern rock station and hear something similar. Too many studio effects and too over-produced.

Axl's singing style hasn't aged well. I used to be the biggest GnR fan around even before Appetite got popular......I'm "that guy", the one who was playing it for all my friends before Sweet Child ever hit the radio, and they all thought I was some heavy metalhead who was into devil music.

Then Appetite got popular, and a good portion of the album made it to radio...and all of a sudden, those same people all had the album, and everyone said GnR had "sold out"......I'm like, WTF? How did they sell out because an album they released 2 years ago is now popular?

Anyway, Axl's voice isn't quite like nails on a chalkboard to me now, but I certainly don't really dig a really loud version of someone's grandma's voice over music. That, and his idiotic antics over the years with debacle after debacle over the release of this album have really done it for me.

It's a shame that only Axl remains, but I always loved his writing and scratchy voice! (the voice not so much anymore...)

Man I just listened to this album, its damn good. Needs Slash and call it a day.

It's a cool song IMO, two gripes :

1. The blatant rip on Slash's style. Something doesn't feel right about it knowing Slash is not with the band.
2. It's a tad overproduced. The drawn out intro, the random wailing guitar, the bomb sound at the end (which is especially yech). I know it's Axl's style, but it feels a little out of touch. I prefer something a little more raw.

Otherwise, I liked it off the bat when I first heard it. I think a lot of the hate is from people who don't care what the song sounds like and is bitter about the breakup / Axl still using the GnR name.
