According to the insurance industry here, cities in Ontario with large Asian and South Asian populations tend to consistently have the highest collision rates. Maybe not fatal crashes. Fender benders and what not. So maybe there is some truth to the stereotypes. There's a lot of people in general who shouldn't be driving though. That's why I'll welcome driverless cars with open arms.
Uh, the Ontario cities with the large Asian and South Asian populations also have the highest populations and densities and super high traffic volumes. In Ontario, that basically means the Greater Toronto Area. The 401 in Toronto is the busiest road in North America, and probably the entire world actually.

It's busier than the I-405 in Los Angeles, and it's actually busier than the busiest roads in Paris, France (A4) and London, England (M25)
combined.
The reasons for the high Ontario insurance rates are the high traffic volume and density (as well as differing insurance laws in this province as opposed to other provinces).
Have you ever driven in Asia? They drive fucking insane there. That is why they get a bad rap for driving. They are incredibly unsafe. They stop near last minute, disobey traffic laws, and other such things. Nobody drives defensively.
Yeah, I was surprised by that comment too. Taiwanese drivers are bloody crazy. That said, they do drive
slower, because the traffic moves that much slower. It's virtually impossible to go 120 km/hr in most areas because there is too much traffic and the roads are not built for that.
OTOH, it's common to see people driving at 140 km/hr on the 401 even within the City of Toronto. (For those who don't know, the speed limit on the 401 is 100 km/hr, which is about 62 mph.)
