It's the cocktail of inferiority complex and the new found 'Chinese Proud' that makes Mainland Chinese being so despicable. When they go to a foreign place, they impose their uncivilized culture because they have a naive belief that China is a superpower now and they can do whatever they want.

They come to Hong Kong, instead of learning to speak Cantonese (the main dialect) and English, they would continue to speak in Mandarin and expect others to communicate with them in Mandarin. It's quite ironic that they leave Mainland in the first place because they couldn't stand that shithole, but yet they are trying to turn the place they settle in into Mainland.

On the being proud and hate losing face thing, all of this needs to be brought to light on a grand scale. Maybe then the citizens will care. When the Olympics came around they cared a lot about appearance. When it left, the area and everything they built went to shit. Put it all on the big screen more and more, I say. Share it all across the web, YT, etc. Trend it, baby.

Indeed it’s a character/cultivation problem. At the entrance of our company’s showroom, everyday there are people waiting for the bus, and they just toss their breakfast garbage on the ground. So our company put a trashcan there. It’s clearly right there beside them, but they still just drop their garbage on the ground by their feet. Of those who come in to use the restroom, many of them will even fucking leave without flushing the toilet. And then there are those who when buying breakfast will even cut in line!! Seeing them makes me feel the garbage is even more pleasing to the eye!!

This is why we need to control knowledge in a communist regime: people want safety, security, and health. Command economies don't give a shit about anything but the long-run return on investment. If that means not scrubbing coal plant emissions, not securing up bridges that would just be cheaper to rebuild or denying proper services wherever it is a net-negative return on investment: They do it.

Sometimes they even invest in a poor ROI because when how everything is run for 3 billion people is decided by government officials that are unresponsive to the experiences of the people bureaucratic political desires, instead of the people's political desires, are what get done.

In 2008, the Chinese infant formula makers sold poisonous products which killed/deformed god knows how many babies.
Eight years later they are selling expired vaccines.
This so called country lacks any kind of moral values and deserves to be shitted on.

The people responsible for the tainted infant formula were executed. When is the last time an American businessman received a life (let alone death) sentence for similar fraud?

That's where I thought this thread was going to go... manners vs. greed (or both, really.)

I was at an upscale casino buffet last year where some fella' must've been fresh off the boat. It wasn't that he ate ONLY the crab legs (and nothing but) but how he was eating them... the horrible, loud noises of consumption... the smacking, slurping, open-mouthed chewing, groaning, etc. *shudder*
...then the worst of it - half of what he had in his mouth was either inedible parts or just too much to swallow so he'd spit the whole wad out directly onto the table in front of him, all around the plate he was eating from.
........

Wish there was a camvid of it.

Your SJW methodology link in your sig was an audiobook on Mahatma Ghandi's salt march to protest British imperialism using the principles of being morally virtuous, peaceful and righteous. I guess it sounds like SJW is going on the right track then.

my recollection is that the early chinese communist party was actually anti-politeness as it was considered a bourgeois value or something and actively tried to stamp it out and so you had a whole generation intentionally raised with no manners

I blame it on the cultural revolution where if you stood in line there might not be enough food left to give to you. And then there's other issues with dishonesty and get all that you can while you can mentality that makes most countries very annoyed at their behavior yet welcome there pocketbooks.

If you ask me there is nothing more destructive to a culture than a day-to-day nonchalant acceptance for corruption and rules-breaking. No PRCer is going to admit it, but they will play dirty whenever there is an opportunity.

Thank you for pointing out this example. I never say corrupted officials/businessmen doesn't exist in America, I concern the way how China handles the situation. The CCP wants you to believe that by executing the two scapegoats the problem has been solved. The fact is they censored any information of the aftermath in their news or weibo (their twitter knock-off). The CCP thinks they can sweep it under the rug, but eight years later you get the same expired vaccines being sold by medical companies, which colluded with the officials.

In America, you can at least complain and bring the matter into the attention of the public. The democratic system cannot prevent corruption, but it provides mechanism to prevent reoccurrence, however slim that chance of happening is. In China, good luck with that.

Blaming the cultural revolution is a convenient excuse. If ten people are standing in a line, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it is a line. But the Commie Chinese choose to be ignorant and act as if they don't know the concept of a line.

The illegal fishing and other things will only get worst, how are you going to feed 1.4b+ people? And that's just China, add another 1.2b+ from India.

Very soon we will be on formula diet like you see in Scifi movie.

Chill out, bro. No one is coming to steal your cardboard box.

Do you have anything to dispute my facts and links/sources? If not, hit the road, bro.

This thread is about commie china and greedy chinese, not about me, bro.

Speaking of cardboard box, there are over 100 MILLION of chinese live for less than $1 US dollar per day. That's United Nations standard of extreme poverty.

You dig, bro?

A mind is a terrible thing to waste indeed.

That's small potatoes.

Let talk about the big boys and girls like these =

Take a wild guess where do they get their extreme wealth from? Not from their official meager "government salaries" for sure.

There's a reason why civilized human beings hate China.

Don't forget about cooking oil recycling from trash, dead pigs/animals throw into the rivers (same rivers for drinking water), fake stuffs selling on Alibaba site, explosive (as in "blowing off") watermelons from too much chemicals, and on and on. To make a quick buck, greedy mainland chinese would do anything to get it, regardless of their country men and consequences.

AquaBounty's fast-growing, tank-grown salmon would be one way to increase the amount of fish available while limiting the impact on the ocean via fishing, along with advances in crop farming over the last 50 years. Also, improving economic situations of people coupled with reduced childhood mortality could serve to slow population growth as people will have less of a need to have a lot of children.

Yes but as Americans we look at this and hang out head in shame. We actually realize this isn't acceptable behavior. In China it just isn't so. They don't give it a second thought. That's the difference

So you believe there isn't a single Chinese person hanging his head in shame for how these Chinese tourists acted?

Why so hostile, bro? I have not said a thing to dispute your facts but wondered why you have so much anger inside of you. Everything you had to say so far reeks with hatred. This thread is about Chinese tourists behaving badly at a buffet, not hating on the Chinese.

You're right about one thing though, a mind is indeed terribly wasted on hatred.
