Slate has a great little repository of Bushisms, some dating back to before the 2000 elections. These are some that I thought were amusing:

Slate.com - the complete Bushisms

"Our country puts $1 billion a year up to help feed the hungry. And we're by far the most generous nation in the world when it comes to that, and I'm proud to report that. This isn't a contest of who's the most generous. I'm just telling you as an aside. We're generous. We shouldn't be bragging about it. But we are. We're very generous."?Washington, D.C., July 16, 2003

"I'm the master of low expectations."?Aboard Air Force One, June 4, 2003

"I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things."?Aboard Air Force One, June 4, 2003

"Oftentimes, we live in a processed world?you know, people focus on the process and not results."?Washington, D.C., May 29, 2003

"We've got hundreds of sites to exploit, looking for the chemical and biological weapons that we know Saddam Hussein had prior to our entrance into Iraq."?Santa Clara, Calif., May 2, 2003 (Thanks to Michael Shively.)

"Perhaps one way will be, if we use military force, in the post-Saddam Iraq the U.N. will definitely need to have a role. And that way it can begin to get its legs, legs of responsibility back."?the Azores, Portugal, March 16, 2003

"The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorize himself."?Grand Rapids, Mich., Jan. 29, 2003

"When Iraq is liberated, you will be treated, tried, and persecuted as a war criminal."?Washington, D.C., Jan. 22, 2003 (Thanks to Chad Conwell.)

"I think the American people?I hope the American?I don't think, let me?I hope the American people trust me."?Washington, D.C., Dec. 18, 2002

"There's an old saying in Tennessee?I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee?that says, fool me once, shame on?shame on you. Fool me?you can't get fooled again."?Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

"There may be some tough times here in America. But this country has gone through tough times before, and we're going to do it again."

Heres some more favorites of mine...

"If the terriers bariffs are torn down, this economy will grow." - Rochester, New York

GOV. BUSH: Because the picture on the newspaper. It just seems so un-American to me, the picture of the guy storming the house with a scared little boy there. I talked to my little brother, Jeb?I haven't told this to many people. But he's the governor of?I shouldn't call him my little brother--my brother, Jeb, the great governor of Texas.

JIM LEHRER: Florida.

GOV. BUSH: Florida. The state of the Florida.?The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer, April 27, 2000

From the George Orwell's lost sequel to 1984

"Well, I think if you say you're going to do something and don't do it, that's trustworthiness."

"I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here."

"One of the common denominators I have found is that expectations rise above that which is expected."

"I hope the ambitious realize that they are more likely to succeed with success as opposed to failure."

"They want the Federal government controlling Social Security like it's some kind of Federal program."

"If you don't stand for anything, you don't stand for anything!"

"It's your money. You paid for it."

"I think we agree, the past is over."

It's not like the chickenhawks have spines either, the entire Bush administration with the exception of Powell hasnt seen any action. They'll gladly send off somebody else's children to war though. What spine!

Maybe Bush sits alone in his folding-chair in the late evenings, with a fire going nearby, snickering when thinking about the sarcasms no one understood the nature of.

Even so, it must be annoying to get your words analysed all the time. Everyone makes mistakes.

Still..

Everyone makes mistakes, huh?
Is that how you justify electing a guy who made the mistake of never learning how to speak properly?

"Even so, it must be annoying to get your words analysed all the time."
He is the president afterall, I mean come on where are the Clintonisms, or even the BushSeniorisms.
The guy is not very intelligent, he isn't as intelligent as the guy before him or the guy before him.
If it makes you feel good to know that the president is just as smart as you, then by all means keep up the justifications.

Em, I think the man's as brilliant as a gila-lizard, with all the wits and cunning of slate, and aside from that I don't care extremely much about him since I live far off.

Besides, I don't think a speach-impediment automatically stops anyone from being a good president.
It's like people complaining about Clintons affair..the day anyone comes up with a believable test that shows strong correlation between Presidential Ability and truthfullness towards your wife is the day brainwashing is fast, smooth and efficient.
Just my opinion though.

Edit: Thinking about it though, it's not as if Bush has some sort of horrible lisp, is it? His brain is operating his words, and if his words is a mirror to his brain.. well, while the brain sure does have strong correlations with the Presidential Ability..that could be bad. It could just be him being very susceptible to stress when speaking to the public. (Although that's highly unlikely given what courses of action the man has taken)
