The difference between a WRC car and its consumer-based counterpart is enormous. Buying a vehicle soley on its WRC version is lunacy.

Subaru has probably the closest WRC car to the production car. And given that the production car costs about $35k (WRX Sti) and the transmission alone in the WRC car costs $70k, there's probably quite a bit of difference.

Obviously some of you are unaware of the term "Boy Racer".

explained....

A Boy Racer buys a car, usually an old one (eg 1992) and puts neon lights on it 18" alloys, stupid loud exhaust, lowered suspension etc.

The car probably goes slower cos of the increased weight, but thats what they do.

Now ok the Golf GTI and the Renault Clio Williams are quite costly cars as they hold their values well...and therefore most Boy Racers cant afford to buy AND insure them. So they get the good 'ol AX GT, Saxo VTS etc.


Now we ALL know the Subaru Impreza p!sses on em all and so do many other cars (Tho my Golf GTI OWNZ all)

So, again, make ya choice!

Ahh, I had defined "Boy Racer" as something a young person can "potentially" afford, yet is reletively quick (such as the Camero, Mustang, and others).

The US equivilents are:
*insert ANY compact car made in the last 10 years*

French rally cars are awesome though.. regular French cars obviously not the same, but Peugeot are amazing in WRC!
